Vanessa Kerry aids woman in crowd with medical emergency |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 05:24 PM by rmpalmer
I told this story in another thread - but I think it says something remarkable about the Kerry-Heinz families I thought it deserved it's own thread. This happened at Greensburg, PA Kerry Rally
Near where I was standing which was probably 20+ standing rows back in the crowd an older lady was fainting. People in the crowd were holding her up and screaming that help was needed.
John Kerry in mid-speech noticed this and called for someone to come to her aid. Vanessa Kerry was standing at the back of the stage and with no hesitation quickly left the stage, waded in to the crowd and with a couple of security guys came to the aid of this woman.
I think that more than words illustrates the family values of the Kerry fmaily. After assisting the woman Vanessa went back to the stage where one of the Teresa's sons (I forget whether it was Andre or Chris) offered her his jacket and asked how everything was.

It really did show the "stuff" that family is made of. Alot of other people saw it too. We just have to trust the heart of the American people in this election. Truth will win out over cynicism.

I didn't notice Vanessa leaving the stage to help. That is so cool. It sounds as though my son and I were farther back in the crowd than you.
After all we hear about Republican "family values", I agree that the Kerry and Edwards children are proof that Dems have real family values, and good moral values overall. Like Kerry said today, just saying it over and over doesn't make it true.
