3. They went there right after they got married, didn't have a honeymoon
They had just passed the bar exam right before their marriage and were having to move. They had no time or money for a honeymoon. He bought her a $11 wedding ring that she still wears. They spent what should have been their honeymoon grabbing a meal at Wendy's so ever since then, that is where they go for their anniversary.

6. When they were first married...
He and his wife were both pretty poor and Edwards couldn't afford to take his wife out to a fancy place for dinner. So they went to Wendy's and have been going there every year for their anniversary since. Such a cute little tradition

7. I'm about the same age as..........
the Edwards and I was in Durham, NC about the same time they were at Chappel Hill. Wendy's just opened their doors during that time and we all thought were in heaven. Fast food at that time meant the BBF. When we were lucky enough to have a little money, our treat to ourselves was Wendy's. I imagine it might be something similar to that for the Edwards.
