(At first I thought it was old news, but it's not. That's why some of the posts might sound a bit weird. I changed the title of the post.)

7. Cool!
I hate posting dupes. I haven't been able to watch Crossfire every day this week, so I wasn't sure if this was common knowledge or not.

:-)

6. No. I didn't know either.
It was either Novak or Bowtie that said both James and Paul were on vacation with Barbara Strisand. I think that was supposed to be funny.

14. Not to be a snob
But I liked these shows when they had real "Inside Baseball" stuff. You know senators, Washington journalists, career beauracrats. People who actually knew things.

We live in an age where comedians and actors and political gadflys are now our political experts. Every show has become "Politically Incorrect."

No wonder our rhetoric has gotten so coarse. None of these people - whether Al Franken or Anne Coulter or Dennis Miller or Alec Baldwin - know anything more about Washington than I do. So all they can do is out-yell or out-clever each other.

Basically, I want to know why I'm not on tv.

15. good point
I'd like more insider news, too. Al Franken does a better job of making the other side look bad than other celebs and most insiders so I make an exception for him.

18. Keep in mind that I liked Politcally Incorrect
There is a place for shows like that. But now every talking head has schtick and no substance.

21. Al Franken is pretty deeply entrenched in the Democratic party
He's done a lot of fundraisers and I believe he even wrote some jokes for Al Gore's speeches. He isn't just a comedian that's also a liberal.

20. Russert? Oh Christ....
I can just see the grilling now:

"OK Al, I'm putting up a quote from you where you told a Rolling Stone interviewer that you regularly snorted cocaine with Tom Davis and Garrett Morris in the mid-70's in this very studio (8H). Do you deny that?"

23. LOL, but not to worry...
Russert LOVES Al Franken. Al will keep him giggling. TR saves his grilling for elected and appointed officials.
