I have seen the idea of McCain for VP bouncing around the internet. I think it is interesting, and would be for it if the President was strong Dem. What do you guys think? Which candidate would he best fit with? Do you think it's realistic.

That's ALL we need, a man in the WH entourage who never found a defense contractor or a weapons system he didn't LOVE.
Reduce defense contractor expenditures by 15%. Vote for Kucinich.

I have seen this on other sites and Jeanine Garofalo sugested it on CNN the other day. I was wondering if this was widespread or just her idea.

That John McCain appears to be some type of liberal is a result of how far the GOP has gone. Now, I'd go with McCain over Bush any day, and if it wwere the only way to defeat Bush, I'd certainly go along with it. But we've got people on our own who would be much better presidents, and much better VP's, than John McCain. If we choose a ticket sensibly, I think we can convince a plurality of voters that we will be able to help ensure their safety as well as improve their economic lot. I also think it would serve us better if we actually do win to have a ticket which would be popular enough to win by a margin, with some coattails, yet leaving enough credibility to pound Congress for change.

15. I Respect John McCain |
|
He only looks liberal because the Republicans are so reactionary. He is a small c conservative like the man he replaced in the Senate-Barry Goldwater.

McCain is not really pro-Bush but he can't slam the head of his party.
And Barry was pretty hawkish on Viet Nam.

I voted for him in the Repub primary in 2000 to try and upset shrub whom I knew was a bastard. But he has lost me over his pro-war stance and his support of *'s lies.

|
then the idea would have some merit. I have quite a bit of respect for him. But the fact that he has not renounced his membership in the Nazi...oops...Republican party, your idea is dead in the water.

If he switches he'll just be an Independent. This is politics. Only Democrats should run in the Democratic Party.

26. I couldn't believe Janean Garafalo..... |
|
talking up this absurd idea. I had begun to respect her opinion, but that is just insane. Why would Democrats make a conservative Republican vice-president? Why not just nominate Jeb as the Democratic nominee and be done with it? Bush v Bush...at least we'd take Florida...
None for me, thanks...
