Starpass: Sen. Evan Bayh, DLC head, is as bad as Biden..I feel your pain..
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 09:03 PM by TruthIsAll
Every time I see this baby-faced creep on TV, he turns my stomach.
He even looks like Hannity and Tucker Carlson. A disgrace to the the Democratic tradition. Repub-lite or a mole. Take your pick. Bayh is a head of the DLC. Yet his father Birch was a great Senator. Go figure.

These are a few quotes from a Miles Benson (Newhouse News service) article "Democrats faltering on the campaign battlefield" which appeared today in the Sun Sentinel.

Sen. Evan Bayh: Too many voters see the Democratic Party as "a conscious objector in the battle to defend America".

Former Sen. Bob Kerrey: "Republicans are making the argument very effectively: 'We've got the greatest Commander in Chief and the previous one was horrible'."

Lieberman spokesman Jano Cabrera: "Dean's and Kerry's speeches seem weak on defense and national security, reinforcing this false impression of the Democratic Party".

Bayh: "We need to embrace national security as an important part of the Democratic message and in doing so, rediscover our own roots".

And this final piece of shit from Bayh: "There was a time when the defense of freedom and liberty was synonomous with being a member of the Democratic Party"

1. Kerrey really said that?
I'll tell ya, this is half the problem. With "friends and leaders" like this its pretty hard to get these fascists out of power. Unbelievable, I just don't get it.

2. Kerrey was Clinton's rival in the 1992 primaries
and from what I understand their relationship has been rocky since. It's kind of like Bush and McCain...still don't get along very well.

3. He was stating what the public was thinking
based on what the Republicans (and their media echochambers) were selling. Accurate point, Clinton said essentially the same. It will change. And soon.

6. let's look at that statement again
"Republicans are making the argument very effectively: 'We've got the greatest Commander in Chief and the previous one was horrible'."

Why are they effective? Because the DLC agrees with them.

4. I coulda gone another thirty years without seeing those quotes
I was having a pretty good day. Last week, we made lots of inroads....FAux slapped down trying to silence Franken, the awful UN bombing...a turning point that makes it plain Smirk screwed the pooch by invading Iraq...polls against the invasion coming unglued.

And we have traitors in our midst excusing and propping up the moron.

5. I used to wonder why these DINOS stay in the Democratic party...
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 08:55 PM by Q
...but it's looking more and more like they're being paid to destroy the party from the inside.

- What other reason would they trash the party like this...especially right before what may be the most important election in American history?

7. Coming from a chickenhawk like Evan Bayh
it is revolting to hear this slug speak of national security.

8. 2 things--Dusty were talking Bob NOT John Kerry and
as far as the origninal post...oh god, don't I know. I saw the DLC convention. There was a lot of good in Bush bashing from some great politicians BUT you also have to piss on Bush or else we are just one of the cheering section for this regime.

9. Watch out! The Bayh defenders who have never lived in Indiana
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 08:58 PM by khephra
will soon come out. They only come out at night, you know.

I've yet to meet anyone here in Indiana that supports Bahy, unless they're part of the Democratic Party structure, and even then I have no idea if they're sincere or just protecting their job.

13. I used to like Evan, Kheph...
He's still in favour of the Enviroment, but he has sold out on EVERYTHING else.

And to think I used to see Susan go for a run in pink Spandex once in a while...How I kept from stacking my Harley I'LL never know!

Yeah, funny how he has a lot of defenders who never heard of Bill Shirk...

11. Taken out of context?
I understand that Republicans and their media sycophants will distort the Democratic message, but are we so gullible as to believe these single sentence snippets reflect the points being made?

12. I DESPISE Evan Bayh!
Biggest gawd-damm sell out in the whole US Senate!
The only "Hoosier" he helps out is that guy who owns the whole south end of Downtown Indy..Uh, what's his name? Eli something? Eli Lilly?

Oh...And Pfizer, too. He likes Pfizer. Pfizer and Lilly give him almost half a Mega-buck (and all the Viagra Susan can stand)every year.

And he just LOVES being invited to the Rose Garden for snackies with the Chimp and Jowly Joe...
