sexual orientation and party confusion
well, I watched a little bit of cspan this evening (while I was collapsed on the couch recovering from a long day of Kerry supporting, and bushbot antagonizing).

I was watching a conference on gay and lesbian issues, and, boy this party stuff is confusing to me. The executive director of the log cabin republicans, was for gay marriage, but also pro bush, wanted votes for bush, but was against the amendment banning marriage. Its hard for me to understand his loyalty to a party that seems to want to deny his very essence of being, Alot of repugs in freeperville where I live, still think that being gay is a conscious choice.

Another republican seemed to be anti-gay, but was concerned that this was a smoke screen being used to prevent discussion on real issues, such as the need to have an increase in minimum wage. Except for the fact he seemed to be in favor of the constitutional ban on marriage, he sounded like a Democrat.

And of course, lots of talk about Chaney and the New Jersey gov (can't remember his name right now), but absolutely no mention of the conservative Christian leader who was just outed, and the hypocrisy represented by that.

sometimes I just don't get this party identification stuff. Except for me, no confusion here. Proud liberal Dem!
:D :D

1. I have actually met some gay conservatives.
And they put national defense in front of their sexual preference, and of course they are rich, so they want to protect their assets. I think if you are born rich you know you are safe no matter what...you can get an abortion, get your maid to get oxycontin, be gay and no one cares, etc.
