When Just One Vote Made All The Difference!
I'm hoping to compile a list of instances where a single vote made a notable historical difference. Could be a landmark vote in the Senate, the Supreme Court, an election, etc. Any suggestions/help appreciated.

I'm going to print out this list, make copies and carry them with me when I'm canvassing -- so I have a good response to the next person who tells me their vote doesn't count!

Thanks in advance for any help!

1. I read something like that the other day.
I can't remember if it was posted here or not. Very inspiring.

I just tell people if they don't vote they can't complain. Period. It got a better response than my 'voting is your civic duty' spiel, that's for sure.

3. a congressional seat in Indiana was won by four votes
in 1984... the "bloody eighth district" won by Frank McCloskey in his second of six terms. I believe during that time, with that election - about half of the Indiana congressional delegation was democratic (believe it or not!)

5. Impeachment/Removal of Office of Andrew Johnson

I believe that John F Kennedy (or his ghostwriter) wrote about the Senate trial and the deciding vote in Profiles in COurage
