However, it's expected to weaken some as it enters the Gulf.
AND, my local news has now included Louisiana in the areas that should be paying attention. I'm not looking forward to what this storn could do to Atlanta, but I'm really concerned about a potential N.O. landfall.
Landfall expected by Wed or Thurs.

the weathercasters are now beginning to move their cone of prediction a bit more westerly. The center of the cone is now nearly atop Mobile, and New Orleans - previously on the edge of the cone - is now firmly within the cone. Scary.

would surely be devastated, especially if a cat 4 or 5. I can't think of a more vulnerable location.

the protection they built won't work for a strong hurricane -- it would keep the flood waters IN rather than out. N.O. is my worry on this one too.
