Nightline NOW on CBS story and the politics of today's media... |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 12:01 AM by southlandshari
Don't know yet the slant of the story, but with Ted Koppel, you've got at least a fighting chance that it could be good.
Don't shoot the messenger if this is an off night for Nightline, though. Just thought some might like to watch!

2. so far, I hate to admit... |

this show sucks. Even with my low expectations of all broadcast "news" programs, Nightline is usually at least a bit above the rest in class and credibility. Or so I thought.
This is pretty ugly. Anyone else watching?

4. Don't bet on it. Koppel is repug who made his name in 1979 by doing |
|
reagan dirty work. Day 178 Day 179 Day 180. He's another corporate shill propagandist. Just my humble opinion.

5. Please, please forget I ever posted this heads up |

And turn off your tv if you are watching this horrible, embarrasing excuse of a program.
I have a measure of respect for those among us who have made the decision to forever tune out cable news (some even have thrown the whole damn tv out the window). I understand their motivations completely.
On the other hand, I feel keeping in tune with what "the masses" are seeing (and believing) helps me be a more effective advocate for truth here in my very, very red state of Alabama. I'm not going to tune out just yet.
But it will be a long, long time before I watch Nightline, once my favorite show, again.
I am so disappointed.

7. No doubt they couldn't resist the temptation -- |
|
to pile on a big competitor and kiss Bush's butt at the same time. I didn't watch it -- chose an old Twilight Zone rerun instead -- but Koppel's mostly a 'ho like the rest of them. Last time they did anything halfway decent is when they read the names of the soldiers who had been killed in Iraq (causing the freetards to squeal like stuck pigs). I've stopped watching TV news at all these days (except for Olbermann and Stewart).
