The Rise of the Mediocrities and the Knownothings. |
|
This describes our situation since Bush was installed in office by a group of conspirators with the connivance of the Supreme Court. The media appears to have abandoned any pretense of its traditional role of questioning authority and enlightening the public on what its rulers are up to.Its motto can be summed up this way: When I sits, I just sits;when I thinks, I falls asleep. Nice way to live if you are not sentient.Come to think of it, that may be the best explanation I have come up with for our media's collaboration in keeping us ignorant.

When Ronald Reagan came on the scene in 1980.
Since then, a culture has been fostered that treats ignorance as a virtue, and intellectualism as something to be disdained.
Without Reagan setting the bar so low, someone like W. Bush wouldn't have even thought about running for President.

it is perfect for the media but also for the populace. Listening to the things that are said by the public leads me to believe that many Americans are not sentient.
