I knew my co-worker and poker partner was a * supporter |
|
but when she said Teresa Heinz Kerry is a "woman hater" and a "communist", I knew there'd be no changing her mind. Oh my gawd.....I just sat there, mouth open, I couldn't respond, I couldn't say anything.......I just couldn't believe she said that. We work together and play poker once a month together......

2. Tell her that Laura Bush is a xanax-popping murderess |
|
I only use the feminine ending (murderess) because it sounds especially vicious. :-)

7. Like my high school algebra teacher used to say |
|
tell her to "elaborate and clarify".
I'd have to mention that slinging around words like this (hate and anger filled) makes her seem, well, stupid, not to mention mentally unstable. Ask her what so personally offends her about Heinz-Kerry, what she based her conclusions on. Really. I'd love to know. Ask her, what country did HK grow up in. If she says Africa, you can nail her with a geography lesson too.

6. I really don't know what I'm going to do, |
|
she was an ally in some circumstances at work, and I'd actually did kid her about her position on * before I found out how she really felt. Just not sure what to do now. *sigh* Reminds me of the so called friends I had prior to going out on strike years ago. When the strike was over (two weeks), I couldn't even talk to the "friends" that crossed the picket lines. Hard feelings to this day. D*mn.

8. I hate this expression, but, sadly, it is one of the truer ones |
|
"keep your friends close and your enemies closer". It might not be a good idea to alienate her if you need an alliance at work...just seem genuinely curious about where she got her info.

My once best friend--since second grade (we are now 46) is also drinking the kool aid. This is a woman who was strong, very independent and strong minded. She worships * and thinks he is a wonderful President. I hardly ever get in touch with her anymore. She used to send me propaganda e-mail and I asked her to stop sending me that junk. I have made it very clear to her that I absolutley do not support * nor think well of him at all. So far she hasn't bugged me but I have to admit its hard to think of her in the same way, although aside from that she has been a good friend. Funny thing is she has 4 sons, the eldest of which is draft eligible. I just don't understand how she and other * supporters with children that age can be so supportive when in doing so they are potentially putting their own children in danger.

9. "Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND????" |
|
falls out of my mouth when people say over the top garbage like this. Then I shake my head and say something on the order of "Good gawd, I guess it really does take all kinds," and let it drop. Usually the moron is only too willing to let it drop. I can't let this stuff go with tacit agreement. Not any more. If somebody is tacky enough to bring stuff like this up in polite company, they're going to find out their opinions are not held in high esteem by sane people.
Oh, and then I'd take all her money. I'm a very good poker player. My dad taught me the game when I was four.

No matter how nervous you get. Shit like this can't go unanswered. This is how the repukes get their message out, hate fear, and intimidation.
