A knucklehead's (Vancouverite) view on the debate....
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 09:46 PM by HEyHEY
As if you care, however... I think Kerry was strong and Leaher certainly came out swinging.
Kerry did a great job and I think he put Bush down in many ways however, my concern was the (what I thought) to be poor answer on Kerry saying he thought the troops should have more support then voted against sending more money for equipment. I think he could have brought up *'s voted against benefits for vets.
Overall I think the debate was mostly attack and defence towards Bush, which makes the most sense. In the next debate I think John must attack Bush's record and ivolvement with companies like Halliburtaon more, that would be the kill strike.

EDIT: Bush saying dialogue with North Korea is a bad idea has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

3. shrub's attitude towards N. Korea
is why Howard Dean said he has diplomacy based on petulance. If shrub doesn't like a leader he refuses to directly deal with them.

4. My Analysys
Kerry won.

Kerry will be able to bring NATO and the UN into IRAQ with his solution.

Bush: Well was more of the same:

The Charge of the Light Brigade
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

2.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

But I don't get to vote.

9. Ever see the movie?
The Charge of the Light Brigade" that came out in 1968?
After the Light Brigade gets slaughtered all the top brass (who watched from afar) could do is blame each other for the travesty and loss of life they caused...
It rings familiar to how the cretins we have in power act, most definitely!

The movie. But had to memorize the poem in school. Some things just get beaten into your head. Lo and behold it becomes relevant again.

De ja vue all over again.

Edited for grammar

6. What do you guys up there think of Kerry saying Hussein was a threat?
Because I can tell you, THIS anti-war Californian was mightily upset to hear Kerry repeat that Big Lie.

Hussein was never a threat to America. EVER.

Why did Kerry agree with b*sh's lie that Hussein was a threat???

7. Most level headed Canadians would say.....
That Kerry and Bush are full of shit on that. However, Canadians who check their heinsight would say at the time they were unsure about WMD. But, now, many would say, SH no threat and it's time to fess up.

Kerry did that to win moderte support.

8. Even if Hussein had HAD some WMD, he wouldn't have been a threat.
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 10:11 PM by Zhade
Unless he was actively trying to use them - which, of course, he wasn't.

Glad to know those up North know that was bullshit. Wish Americans knew it!
