Actually I was listening to him from another room, as he was whoring for Bu$h on NBC, and he did not sound confident in his support.

20. Guiliani knew Bush got totally reamed. |
|
There's republicans in the background behind him that look more depressed than Eeyore.
Stewart asks him how he thinks Bush did, and Guiliani completely lies and said Bush did great.
That Kerry kept flip-flopping about Iraq and didn't make his position clear.
Stewart (paraphrasing): "Well, now, I watched the entire debate. And it seems to me that Kerry did just the opposite. He made his position perfectly clear, and didn't flip-flop at all. But maybe... my... television's broken."
Stewart kept calling him on it but Guiliani kept repeating soundbites and looking like a fool.

How Guilliani keeps using 9/11 as a reference tool is extremely disturbing to say the least.
Did anybody see NBC's spin after the debate? They had a good piece with John Edwards explaining once again that despite what the GOP and mainstream press wants to believe, Kerry and Edwards have been consistent. "Just because you tell a guy he can go to war, doesn't mean he can go make a mess about it" - Edwards verbatem and in a nutshell.
Then Guilliani (or however his name is spelled) was on for a response and he mentioned that Kerry said in the debate that Saddam was a threat and then he wasn't. Is this the only thing he could pick up on? That's more dumb than the Republicans going back to months of transcripts to find Kerry actually calling Bush a liar. Unlike Bush, I'm sure Kerry will admit his mistake once he hears about it. Back to Guilliani, there was no mention of Bush referring to Saddam when he was supposed to be talking about Bin Laden. Guilliani must've been busy beating up a homeless man when Bush said this.
Guilliani also said that the Pakistani Prime Minister shouldn't talk about the Iraq War being a mistake because he wasn't in New York or Pennsylvania on 9/11.
How sick is that? What democrat could ever like this guy? To bring up a tragedy like 9/11 and compare it to the invasion of Iraq when every person with a brain knows that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 (no righteous evidence EVER to that effect). Just like all GOPs, Guilliani is trying to find the stupid people out there that will fall for a line like that.
Geeze...the sad thing is that there are people in Missouri and other battleground states that are listening to Guilliani and actually believe him because everyone they know says that Guilliani was a great mayor. Even Brokaw said it when he introduced him! No reason not to believe a great mayor right?
What a scumbag. It was awesome to see that Jon Stewart called him on his mistakes. I think Jon knew that just like his best friend Georgie, Rudy isn't capable of admitting mistakes.

Longtime NYC residents are quite familiar with the ravings of this nutcake and had tossed him out of office prior to 9/11 in disgrace. He was filling out the last of his lame-duck tenure as a failed local politician under the onus of serious illness. In short, he was considered politically radioactive when 9/11 struck.
His performance was heralded on that day precisely because it was considered so astonishingly atypical of his previous, boorish antisocial style of governance (sound familiar?). Within a week however, he was already back to his old tricks, looking for a way to extend his tenure extra-legally on the capital he obtained from his appearances during the disaster.
The people of NY didn’t cut him any slack, and he was shown the door as planned but he has gained a new life from 9/11 that might come back to haunt us if he appears on a national ticket. Many don’t realize this, but Giuliani is potentially as dangerous as John Ashcroft. Putting citizens civil rights in his hands would be a tremendous mistake.

24. I've never been to New York City. I didn't live through 9/11. |
|
I don't know what kind of Mayor he was to New Yorkers. But, I never liked the guy. Judging only by Media appearances and news reports over his tenure there, I formed an opinion and it wasn't positive.
Today, we see a beady eyed fellow who is full of bullshit 24/7. He laps up camera coverage like it was his life's blood. I STILL don't like him.
I thought he was smarmy then, I think he's smarmy now. No offense New Yorkers; I love you guys and your great city evermore. :loveya:
