WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO! Kerry NUKED him!
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 11:51 PM by tom_paine
I was worried about tonight, I admit it.

Given the power of the Bushevik Party Loyal Sub-Media's power to obfuscate truth and launder almost ANY lie into "conventional wisdom", I worried that, no matter what happened Corporate TV Pravda would annoint Bunnypants* the winner.

And they still might, but it would be an Orwellian feat which even THEY have not yet dared, akin to selling people that 1 + 1 DOES equal 3 after all.

But it won't be easy. Kerry DESTROYED him, quite objectively.

The Imperial Cut Men will be working feverishly into the night to staunch the bleeding!

Kerry beat him like a rented mule every damned step of the way! Issues, backing him into a corner, leaving him speechless (which Gore ALSO did, but not as thoroughly or convincingly), more self-confidence, and this against an Emperor who's every word for the last four years has been sanitized, every gaffe covered up or dismissed down the Memory Hole.

Outside of Ferdinand Marcos or Joe Stalin, has there ever been a person so well covered up or with more reason to be utterly confident that, no matter what he did, that it would be ignored and he'd get away with it?

And yet, Kerry MUSHED HIM!

Now, let's not get too overconfident! We all know the power of the Bushevik Sub-Media to do their evil Orwell thing, but is it possible that this is simply too great a lie, exposed out in the open to so many people so very clearly (as in 66.6% clearly!)

We shall see...

But for tonight...this is a CELEBRATION! For those of us who have braved this long winter, and have seen the gates of Hell open before our eyes and the nightmare of Dark Age. Endured loss after loss as our Leaders grew weak and supine and cautious, while the Totalitarians chewwed us up and ate our lunch...

Tonight there is hope...a REAL hope that a person can sink their teeth into, that maybe we can turn this thing around and keep this crazy, happy Democratic-Republic together and free.

And that is cause to keep this thread KICKED!

Let us be happy NOW, whatever the future ultimately brings!

You know what? Come on in you %$#@!#& Freepers! Maybe some of you will wake the f*ck up and see that is isn't an issue of left and right anymore. For the moment...it is something that transcends party.

It is in the best intersts of the country that the Bush be stopped.

But enough of that... it's a CELEBRATION!

What was your favorite moment?

I know mine..."You forgot Poland"

Damn! That brought a tear to my eye!

I was at work - my call center job which is the only thing I can find right now thanks to Bush's economy - and heard it on the television of the person I was helping with their DirecTV.

11. Didn't Poland recently decide to pull out of Iraq?
They have the second largest troop contingent there, but the Polish government has said no to further or continuing involvement.

Note: I didn't see the debate, so I'm not sure of the context of the "You forgot Poland" comment.

I had to miss the debate (our church building doesn't clean itself, and we have nationwide company coming this weekend), and I've been sampling a few threads, but by the Christ, it's good to see that you were encouraged by tonight's show.

Welcome back to the fight, my friend. This time I know our side will win.

6. For the very first time
since the selection I will sleep well and deeply. Tomorrow it is time to get up and work some more but the work will be easier because Senator Kerry was there for us. He was there, the country seems to have awakened a bit so now it will be with hope and a bit of joy that the work continues. Sleep well tom_paine, I think we just might win this one. I have not had any real hope until tonight.

7. AND this was supposed to be Bush's strong suit. Kerry will rip him a new
one in the economic debate.

I loved Kerry's last line that Americas future will be based on freedom, not fear. A double edged sword that left me gasping. In one swift move he told the world what this administration is really all about.

I am so impressed by Kerry at this point. He was articulate, informed, direct and there was a sense of strength and conviction.

Maybe, just maybe, our nightmare is coming to an end.

outsourcing the job to find osama. i could have sworn i saw blood come shooting out then. my other favorite moment came towards the end when bush just flat out lost steam and kept blubbering the same rhetoric. short of running off stage, he just stopped. it was BAAAAAAD! i don't doubt that bush is crying right about now.

Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 01:39 AM by LibDemAlways
Chimp is such a moron, just listening to him try to formulate a coherent sentence is entertaining, but "moolas" is just ridiculous. At times I thought I was watching an SNL skit. He was that bad.

Another priceless moment was when he said he knows how hard the Iraq situation is because he's watched it on tv. Wonder how the troops feel knowing they are mere players in the chimp's reality tv show.

I liked his pronunciation of Vladimir....Vladamur. What a total imbecile this PT Barnum side show freak is!
Or how about his mental grasping for words reflected on his face during those long pauses. He fancies himself a "war-time president". In reality, he has become a war-torn president. With luck he will become a war-criminal president on trial at the Hague.

My hat is off to Kerry!!!!!!!!!

I tend to caution against unchecked optimism, but this is definitely cause for celebration.

Bush just got spanked like a newborn, and all of his loyalist republican pundits are clueless as to why. Their editorializing has been reduced to conceding that Kerry came across as persuasive and eloquent while their candidate was, for some strange reason, not as confident. Then, they qualify that with, "Well, Americans'll decide in November" as if polling and public opinion is only substantive when it supports their candidate.

Strange that there's so much dissension in the republican ranks right now. Maybe... just maybe it's because the facts are on our side.

36. I agree totally.
I don't think that the shrubs' handlers were counting on Kerry coming out swinging like he did. They undoubtedly told him to keep harping on the flip-flop "issue" because it's tied Kerry up before, thinking that JK would waste all his alotted time defending himself and not leave himself adequate time to get his points across.

Now that they know he means business, they'll be better prepared for next time.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but this is far from over.

49. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That truly was awesome -- I was thinking "how weird is it, that after all these months of campaigning and being obsessed with the election, that they're finally on stage together."

It was a BIG, BIG moment, and Kerry delivered -- and the Chimp looked every bit the dumb asshole that I thought he would.

"I KNOW it was OSAMA that attacked us!"

Classic.

That forty percent of the population that thinks Saddam was responsible for 9-11 need to realize, if that were in ANY WAY true, that was the moment for Bush to make the case to perpetuate the LIE he's been schlocking, ever since 9-11.

I like what you said: maybe those fucking delusional freeping nutcases will wake the fuck up. I have no hope for the end-timers and really, really dumb -- but any normal person that supports this jerk-off needs to jump ship. Bush is an embarrasment, not just to them, to our whole country.
