Here'e what I wrote to my local Hudson Valley, NY paper:
As I watched the first presidential debate, I became more convinced than ever that Kerry is a man who is thoughtful and steady, a man who will lead us honestly. He's a leader I trust to be my president. Bush has given us nothing but diversions, half-truths, and a "Don't worry, everything will be okay!" attitude when we all know that under Bush, it isn't okay and it won't be okay. Slick, dishonest campaign slogans and smear campaigns, repeated over and over again, just aren't working with most people.
In Thursday's debate, we saw what hard-line supporters can't see because their eyes are blinded by some false sense of loyalty. The rest of us, those that are thinking and open minded, saw John Kerry as our next President. Kerry showed strength, conviction, a steady command of the facts, and the sensibility to lead and lead well. He showed that he was smart and alert enough to focus on the real enemies, the real terrorists, and strong enough to protect me and my family from them.

In last night's debate, John Kerry was clear, concise, and decisive. He gave details of his bold plans to make the world safer by building true coalitions and by working to bolster moderate Muslims around the world. He showed true compassion towards today's soldiers, and pointed out the shameful fact that the Bush Administration, by not providing adequate body armor, armored Humvees, and a planned exit strategy, has not supported our troops. He made it clear that he is a man who thinks things out in a reasonable manner, and yet sticks to his core values. All Bush could do was spout his same tired talking points and spin. Kerry will make a great President.
