Thunderous Applause for THK & JK after Bushies Left the Stage ...
Did anyone but me notice how the volume and intensity of the applause nearly doubled when Chimpy and his family left the stage, leaving only THK and JK there? It was as if the audience went out of their way to make it known they really thought JK rocked... I could hear it increase over the talking head covering the convention.

Anyone else notice? Wonder if THAT'S ever happened in a debate before.

3. yes. Tiny Tim and Tom Brokejaw on NBC tried to pass it off as a
pent up reaction to BOTH candidates performance. "They were asked to stay quiet for 1 1/2 hours and they did and now just want to show their support for the two men."

The old "who ya gonna believe, me or your lying eyes".

Sweet.

4. Just as you'd applaud any clear victor!!!
Kerry MURDERED him.

No, better yet. Bush opened his mouth and fell on his sword.

5. Oh yeah! On CSPAN it was obvious - I think JK was last off the stage
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 08:45 AM by gbwarming
It was a rousing, spontaneous cheer.

That CSPAN split screen was imo devstating for Bush* - not only because it showed his whack facial responses but FOX zoomed in so much that he looked scrunched. Did you notice how much bigger the stipes in the podium look on the Bush side? I thought he had a bump to stand on.

Edit: this shot is from CNN

8. One pundit said lack of applause during debate threw GWB off course
I can't remember if it was Russert or Pat Buchanan maybe who suggested that the Chimperor is used to getting an outburst of applause (instant gratification) each time he makes a point in his stump speeches but the lack of positive audience reaction made him flustered with obvious difficulty filling in the gaps where he usually hears applause.

14. I think so, too.
After he let fly with one of his slogans, he seemed to be waiting for applause & cheers. But all he got was silence--then more questions or more answers from Kerry.

Too bad for him--he's gotten used to speaking in front of hand-picked, loyalty-oath-signing sycophants.

10. Was it just me or was Kerry's camera bouncing up and down, while...
Chimps was locked off. Hmmm think it had anything to do with the fact that faux was controling the broadcast last night? Fuckers

15. Saw it, loved it
They were still on stage after the Bushies hustled off and people were really cheering for them. Of course, Brokaw and Russert didn't mention it.

17. PBS had the audio down, didn't notice it.
Not surprised. They, like NPR know what side the jelly goes on...
Still better than trying to watch FAUX, though.

C-SPAN is not carried at night on our system.
