Criticizing the war and the President's handling of the war is Unamerican
and puts our troops in danger and aids and abets our enemies.

Thats the mantra the RW has been trying to preach ever since Kerry got serious about attacking Smirk on Iraq. Its in full blast mode now, and Smirk tried it last night.

In other words, if you don't agree with us, then shut up. When will someone call them on this obvious tactic?

1. The only demographic that will appeal to
is the hard core nutcase Bush supporters.

3. Anyone who's old enough to remember Viet Nam
Will have their heads explode listening to that same old tripe. At least those who aren't so delusional they still think we could have "won", which I guess is Smirky's base.

4. We have been all along, and Kerry's doing it now,
and Bush's stupid mantra last night about "What kind of a message is it to send to our troops to say 'Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time'?" just made him look like a moron.

He blurted that out like five times no matter what the topic at hand. Meanwhile Kerry was articulate, informative and honest.

Bush totally went into the weeds last night. It's clear now that all he can do is spout out a handful of canned responses.

It should be clear to all now why all of his speaking appearances are so carefully scripted and choreographed.

5. HATRIOTISM!!!
"You're either with us or you're aginst us."...."If you don't support the war, you don't support our soldiers."

KERRY should USE that word against the RWers.

6. Someone did. John Kerry.
And he briefly made what I think is the most important point in response to that prattle: The TROOPS KNOW it's a mess over there.

They themselves are well aware that they've been tossed into a quagmire, with no plan for winning the peace, and no plan for bringing them home.

The prospect of new leadership, a President who's been where they are now and knows exactly what they're up against -- a President who "gets it" -- well, that's a morale BOOST if ever there was one.

8. My LTTE to my right-wing rag got me blocked for suggesting the war
in Iraq was not a war on terrorism as their editorial said and further that much of the world views the war as illegal and believes war crimes have been committed. I asked them to expain to their readers why the war is not illegal and why the Geneva Conventions do not apply here. My subscription is forever being canceled today for that RW rag has gotten its last penny from me if I am a person of even some honor.

9. Teddy Roosevelt
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public
servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is
warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency
in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a
whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full
liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly
necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does
right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile.
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are
to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and
servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the
truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more
important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about
any one else."

"Theodore Roosevelt in the Kansas City Star", 149 May 7, 1918
