U.S. Troops in Iraq Gather to Watch 'Fahrenheit 9/11'; Anti-Bush sentiment growing

by Ann Scott Tyson / Christian Science Monitor

Inside dusty, barricaded camps around Iraq, groups of American troops in between missions are gathering around screens to view an unlikely choice from the US box office: "Fahrenheit 9-11," Michael Moore's controversial documentary attacking the commander-in-chief.

"Everyone's watching it," says a Marine corporal at an outpost in Ramadi that is mortared by insurgents daily. "It's shaping a lot of people's image of Bush."

Guess the Repugs won't be able to count on the military vote this year.

1. Don't forget. They're sending all overseas military ballots
to the Pentagon.

........I'm sure they'll purge the "mistaken ballots"

3. Emotionally this makes me so sad and happy at the same time
that these poor young people used as shell fodder by Bush are getting the brutal truth that Bush is guilty of treason and dereliction of duty. It will be so painful for those whose eyes are just opening.

It saddens me no end.

BUT the truth will liberate them from Bush's lies and that gladdens my heart.

We do not need a whole generation of brainwashed killers who will do anything for the Bush Cheney carnage machine. It is bad enough that some of them will remain brainwashed and that sopme will never recover from the mental harm Bush has done to them.

5. Very much like Vietnam during Johnson's term.
The troops in Vietnam openly lampooned and displayed disgust with LBJ's policies up to and including 1968 and early '69. Graffiti, posters, and helmet writings were unwavering in slamming LBJ's policies.
