as he was described last night. That's fine, as long as he never climbs any higher on the political ladder than Mayor it's fine with me. Why this adulterer is admired so much by the religious right totally escapes me.

11. I voted for him for mayor, and might even do it again...

...depending on who he was running against. But I'd never vote for him for senator, because a) his temperament makes him unfit for the job -- he'd constantly be insulting his colleagues; and, more importantly, b) the vote he'd have to cast for a Republican majority leader.

Also, he should never again be allowed near a job where he has the power to issue subpoenas. IMHO, he grossly overstepped his bounds as a prosecutor.

I do prefer Bloomburg's style as mayor to Giuliani's. He's kept the best aspects of Guiliani, particularly the emphasis on quality of life problems like cracking down on open drug dealing and turnstile jumping, but without the constant hectoring and belittling of those who disagree.

Perhaps what disappoints me most with NYC Dems is that they can't seem to nominate an attractive mayoral candidate. I'd love to be able to vote for someone like ex-Philly Mayor and now PA Gov. Ed Rendell...who, ironically, is a native New Yorker.

(An aside here: I grew up in the Philly area and later lived in Philly itself, and in my lifetime that city only had two decent mayors, Richardson Dilworth and Rendell -- and neither was a native Philadelphian.)

But back to Giuliani: His spinning on the Daily Show was truly pathetic. It was almost as if Jon's talented writers wrote his script. "Saddam was a WMD" indeed!
