Oakland Theatre Marquee : Thanks Kerry, Bush Incompetent Moron
Well, I don't have a link for this, cause I saw it MYSELF last night.

But I have this sneaking feeling it's going to be on the news someday, and probably soon.

Driving past the Grand Lake Theatre (near Lake Merritt) in Oakland last night, I watched workers putting the finishing touchs on the following message on a rather large marquee:

"THANKS TO JOHN KERRY FOR EXPOSING BUSH AS AN INCOMPETENT MORON IN DEBATE ONE"

I went up and thanked the dude on the ladder as he finished putting up the letters, and he said "I'm sure the theatre owner will be glad to hear his message is reaching the community". I said "Tell him the community is glad for the theatre owner's message! Kerry ROCKED tonight!!!". He nodded, smiled and gave the thumbs up ..

It was so cool to see that, just about 2 hours after the debate ended, still flying high - I don't think I've been so happy in over 3 and a half years...

1. Where do you live?
Is it considered a 'Liberal Haven'? What is it like to live in such a place? Is there such a place?

Good for the theatre owner. I also hope McGruder's comments last night about Bush being stupid being the elephant in the room nobody will talk about sticks, too. I do believe the emperor's phoney clothes are starting to unravel.

2. I think that the comment about
Bush's intelligence (competence) being the elephant in the room is a good one.

10. Aaron Brown couldn't believe Macgruder's statement.
Even he was grinning about that one.

19. That would be the East Bay in California...
Yeah, I guess you'd call it a liberal haven for the most part...

The North Bay, aka Marin is probably even more so, but, yeah. The town I grew up in, Walnut Creek, is probably more like 50/50, buncha rich bastards (it was much cheaper in 'the creek' up until about 10 years ago, but it's through the friggin roof now...)

But I'm only 20 mins from Berkeley ... need I say more?

I see roughly 20 to 1 Kerry paraphenalia over B/C crap, minimum.

Sounds nice, no?

3. A Great Theatre
The grand lake is one of the most beautiful movie theatres in the world. Each of the theatres are done up in a cool motif (egyptian, roman, etc)

My dad used to be friends w/ the owner and we would get to see press previews there all the time. Awesome!

21. Yup, I remember seeing "Pete's Dragon" there...
When I'z just a wee lad. Saw a few other's too, my pops used to live in the Rockridge and I used to LOVE that theater. If memory serves, it has a good old fashion balcony in it, right?

The Orinda is pretty bitchin' ass theatre these days as well... Sound was a little laggin compared to some of the newer places, but the opulence and restored 1920's feel is killer...

6. Moderator message
I love this post and all that's in it, but it isn't really breaking news. I'll be moving it to General Discussion.
Think of it this way: GD has tons of traffic and lots of people will get to read this story.

Oh, and go take a picture for us!
