This final month will be one of the nastiest in political history |
|
Kerry did exceptionally well in last night's debate. He exceeded most of our expectations. He remained cool and calm under pressure, a trait he has picked up with service over time. I now see how he would have been in Vietnam. He IS a leader. He fought Bush on his supposed strengths. He called him on Iraq not being Al Quaeda and Saddam not being Osama. He spoke out clearly about North Korea. He was wise and very knowledgable. He was presidential, while Bush seemed very immature and just plain silly. I believe that most people that saw him, can picture Kerry as a president.
Bush however still maintains an edge on these topics. For all his stumbling, Bush's line still will remain effective for many - "Kerry is not consistant". The wrong place, wrong time thing will be repeated at nauseum. Also, it will be repeated that Kerry "voted for the war and then didn't fund the troops". This was the only thing Kerry should have been clearer on.
Also there was a new ad the other day with images of 9/11 and the Spanish bombing and then a cut to Kerry cutting defense and intelligece spending.
If we thought the swift vets were bad, we haven't seen anything. There is also the possibility of an "october surprise".
Ultimately I think the massive voter registration drives in swing states will win this election for Kerry. Also Kerry's debate will have strengthened him among the base in several key states like NJ, MD, and this will bring him back in MN, IA and WI.

23. No I don't. If someone made a blatantly racist remark... |
|
...here disparaging any racial group or a religious slur they would be flamed into oblivion. Why are adoptees fair game? This Reagan guy is a bum but telling all adoptees that they are "fake" sons or daughters is really offensive. Besides, I began the comment "With due respect."

32. You shouldn't give professional advice. |
|
I'm trying to let you know how a member of a minority group feels when they see their group disparaged and the disparagement meets with little or no response. Rather than comment on that, you just dismiss it as a mental health issue. Why didn't you comment on the remark about adoption. I'm clear and, God forbid, correct on this issue. It's a slam at adopted people. Note, I haven't said anything to attack your character, mental health, or ability to think logically. I'm just trying to make a point about a how people conduct themselves here with regard to this particular group and other atypical minorities. I'm sure you would be all over any anti Semitic remarks, anti black remarks and not telling members of those groups they need counseling. Reflect on this and don't send a response please.

33. I agree. I work with foster and adopted kids and this comment was |
|
puerile.
However, given the weird dynamics of Hollywood adoptions, etc. it is not surprising that it might get a nasty turn.
And who knows WHAT kind of relationship they had?
But this kind of nastiness, although thought by some (even me in THIS case), is better left unsaid. Reagan was a very strange animal but I guess it is no surprise that his biological son would support Kerry and the adopted one Bush. But their biology has NOTHING to do with it.

7. I mean fight fire with fire |
|
I would start with the fact that the Bushes backed Hitler in WWII, Saddam in the Iran-Iraq war, Osama in the Afghan war with Russia, Mobutu in the diamond Congo wars, Papa Doc in the Haitian civil war and drug smuggler Noriega in the drug war, Nixon and Dulles in the murder of JFK, AND Nixon in the murder of RFK and MLK.
Just for starters.
Bush IS a Nazi and we need to keep saying that.
Anyone else want to try "nasty" against Bush?
It is fun and easy to play.

14. Noriega was Poppy's man in Panama until Noriega started doing... |
|
...things his own way, like taking a bigger cut of the drug trade profits. That led to some trumped-up charges by Poppy (similar to Junior's trumped-up charges about Saddam). The next thing Noriega knew, Panama was being overrun and Noriega was in prison.
So, yes, acting through the U. S. legal system, Poppy had Noriega put away in Federal prison.

with the liberal ads. There have been some decent ads, but they really haven't cut to the heart of it.
Somehow, the republicans can show pics of the WTC and then practically insinuate that because of Kerry's actions the event occured.
Meanwhile liberal groups are completely avoiding the 7 minutes of reading the caterpillar book and looking like an idiot or the fact that he tried completely avoiding the creation of the 9/11 commission. How about cutting the funds to safeguard nuclear material in the former SU? Or the fact that Bush completely ignored a nation that is developing nukes, while he invaded a nation that had none. Fortunately Kerry did address some of these. I saw a good ad with Bush and the Saudis but we need more of those. It was a hard hitting ad, but I only saw it once. I understand that Kerry can't talk as easilly about Bush's of 9/11. It's very difficult, but that's where the 527s should step in.
I also agree about the backing of Saddam and Osama in previous times. I'm not sure if the Nazi connections would be as effective though. Many might dismiss those more easilly and claim they are "conspiracy theories". Though, I do think it's important that these facts are made known to the public - that Bush was illegally trading (and in effect backing up) with the Nazis even when he shouldn't have..I also hope that Jewish Americans know this in places like FL.

15. Prescott Bush was involved in making loans to Nazi Germany from 1934.... |
|
...until 1942 when the Federal Government stepped in and shut down his bank for doing business with the enemy. Herbert Walker, Poppy's father-in-law, was the owner of the Union Bank where Prescott was a director.
What makes this story so bad is that some of that loaned money went toward building Auschwitz. How effective do you think that would be if the entire Jewish American community nationwide knew this story?

34. The Bush/Walker family was DEEPLY involved in Hitler's rise to power |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 10:11 AM by seventhson
They were behind him 100% and HID their ties and CONTINUE to hide their ties to these Nazi bastards.
They actually backed Hitler AGAINST the United States and were prosdecuted under ther Trading with the Enemies act DURING WWII. Due to their Wall Street and political connections they got away with it and KEPT their Holocaust profits.
Jews will be outraged.
WWII veterans will be OUTRAGED.
Voters who are not ignorant neanderthals, will be OUTRAGED if they knew the Bushes did this and covered it up for the last half century while the reaped the bloodsoaked profits.
Let's get NASTY about the NAZIS in the White House. It is real.
Very real.
And disgusting.
But it is true and the longer we neglect these truths the longer the whole world will pay the awful price. We are seeing it NOW globally - hate, fear, mass murder, children bombed and mutilated.
Just like then when they backed Hitler.
And it is ALL well documented in public federal records.
Read the articles on Thyssen and Krupp and Bush at www.John_Loftus.com
He was a Nazi hunter and US Attorney/Prosecutor at the US Justice Department. HE found the evidence hidden in the US archives.
