6. John Edwards Will Shock Everyone -- Cheney Included

If you haven't noticed, Edwards has been relatively low key in this campaign. But he's put a LOT of time into researching Cheney over the past few months. Think of it as "trial preparation" if you will.

Dick Cheney, unlike Bush, is anything but inarticulate. He is a clear-spoken intellectual, deceptive as he may be in his intellect. However, if he walks into this debate with his familiar smug and condescending attitude, expecting to influence hearts and minds by fear and intimidation, he will be in for quite a rude awakening.

October 5, for John Edwards, is the trial of his life, in which he will prove to America that Dick Cheney is guilty of consistently providing poor leadership, making bad decisions, and is the wrong man for the job. Edwards will counter Cheney's fearmongering with a powerful message of hope and optimism. It will be quite a contrast.
