Top Five Debate Lies
contributed by members of 'Peace-Action'

http://www.peace-action.org/2004/W_Lies.html

1. In last night's debate, Pres. Bush, once again reiterated that "Saddam Hussein was a threat to the world." That was a flagrant LIE, and events since the invasion and occupation have proven it so.

2. "Sadaam would’nt disarm so we had to attack." In fact, Sadaam was complying with all demands and inspectors were on the ground, finding nothing- Scott Ritter who left in 98 said there was nothing and Colin Powell earlier said - Sadaam has been effectively disarmed, he has not reconstituted his weapons program.
Cindy Knope Hilton NY

3. During tonight's debate, President Bush said that the USA must "disrupt those who proliferate weapons of mass destruction." This must mean, then, that we must disrupt (?) ourselves, since the Bush administration actively is seeking to advance the development of more "usable" nuclear weapons.
Vicki

4. "We use diplomacy every chance we get."
Lee Brown
Madison, WI

5. Bush, referring to Iraq war justification: "They attacked us!"

Thanks to everyone who contributed. Look for a new and improved version next week

2. We Dismantled AQ Khan Nuclear Weapons Network
Bush failed to mentioned Khan was pardoned....he must be referring to "hard work" done to get Libya to give up their nukes and drop dime and some of the misc. arrests in Pakistan and UK....maybe? Part truths are so much harder discredit and easier for them to defend.

3. As usual, he claims credit for Libya's turnaround when he didn't do
the hard work of negotiations that Clinton had started with Libya. The only good thing I will say is he didn't botch up Clinton's work as he did in North Korea.

His claim about A.Q.Khan Research Lab is also a joke. He let Khan go with a slap on the wrist instead of hauling that guy's ass in front of the International Criminal Court. That would have meant he would have to subject himself, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the assorted criminals that are his administration.
