Bill Press on MSNBC: Dick Cheney = Hannibal Lecter!! |
|
On the VP debates: Cheney v. Edwards is like Hannibal Lecter v. Mister Rogers. Even Pat Buchanan had to laugh at that comparison!

4. That is an insult to Hannibal Lecter! |
|
At least there was honesty in his mind fucks and he had some class. He was evil in the sense that he had to be able to lure his prey. Is it his fault he happened to have a taste for human flesh? To his credit, he ate mostly nasty humans. Cheney is evil for the sake of being evil. He's a crass, sneering, craven, decrepit pervert who kills for the sake of killing.

5. If they think John Edwards is gonna come off like Fred Rogers, |
|
they got another thing comin', I think. I mean, that's okay -- let 'em fool themselves he's a 'Breck girl' and butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. He didn't get his law degree and pass the bar by finding the right bubblegum machine, and there's no speaker quite like a Southern rhetorician. I'm thinking it's fine if they think he's too nice. My guess is they'll get a little surprise.

8. I sincerely want to see John edwards deliver a knockout blow to chenee |
|
I believe that an unqualified victory would be dick having a heart attack on stage. Gosh I hope that doesn't happen but if it did, I'd say Edwards won. :)
In fact I think I'll start a new thread on this very subject.

Edwards strikes me as somebody who saves his zingers for when they matter most -- I'm pretty sure he knows how to bull-bait, too. Let 'em underestimate him, though. As I've said in other posts, they'll have Cheney coked to the gills on beta blockers so his heart is only beating about four times a minute to keep him from losing his cool and saying 'fuck' on national TV. But I'm pretty sure I think Edwards could figure out a way to drive him to it.

Cheney = Hannibal Lecter, but as far as I'm concerned, Edwards = Atticus Finch--a hero for a lawyer!
Edit: spelling
