Kerry instead of Bush now...and we're in Kentucky!! He said that the debate changed their minds about Bush. They don't want him in charge anymore. Believe me, this is a big deal because these guys are usually steadfast repukes.

1. This is HUGE.
There is no way to spin that 'Bush won' and make it believable. The damage has been done, and I think it is irreparable.

2. You've got a long way to go in Kentucky.
It's a very red stat. But still, good news!

4. Hey, Kentucky! Smart people there are waking up!
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 10:39 AM by Ilsa
I think it was Gloria Borger on Washington Week in Review say yesterday that for the debates, there was no pro-Bush, supportive audience to clap and yell when Bush delivered a soundbite, and that must have rattled him and contributed to his fragile appearance. The soundbites don't stand up to anaylsis or debate, and people are finally beginning to see that because there are no props. She also commented on how keeping him surrounded by supporters hasn't helped prep him for debate. Kerry had to go through rigorous debates in the primaries.

The ones left supporting Bush would never change their minds anyway, because they beleive that if he is a "Godly" man, he'll do all the right things and everything will "work out."

Congrats on your good news!

6. That's hard to believe.
It's like if all the zombies in Night of The Living Dead stopped walking about blindly looking for brains to eat and started a cocktail party complete with sparkling conversation.

11. I was shocked myself...
but I think some Bush people are looking for a reason to vote for Kerry. Maybe some of them saw something in the debate.

16. Good news! If Bush wins, please fly your flags at half mast.
Folks, do me a favor. In the terrifying event that Bush wins the election, please fly your flags at half mast. It will be a sad day for America (and the world), and we democrats, independents and republicans with common sense need to openly display our sadness.

18. Man, I wish my dad would figure it out
I sent him an e-mail giving my impression of the debate (in a non-gloating way) and he replied saying,

"most pundits considered it pretty even. however the debates historically have not had a large effect on the result's of the election."

I immediately e-mailed back. Someone here had posted a long list of quotes from some 20 different pundits, all in favor of Kerry, as well as some of the poll results, all clearly in Kerry's corner. I said, "oh, you mean these pundits?" and then the list.

I also mentioned the JFK/Nixon debate which by all accounts was crucial to JFK's victory (should have mentioned Shrub/Gore for that matter).

What a fucking tool he is!

20. Hold them to it. Keep reminding them of Chimpy's failures.
from now until the election. I think a lot of people changed their minds based on the debate, but I worry about a Rovian trick or October surprise luring them back to the other side.
