"Osama bin Laden isn't going to determine how we defend ourselves." |
|
Actually, Mr. Resident, he does!! And the reason he does is because we have to defend against whatever attack strategy he implements against us. We have to defend ourselves accordingly, to have the maximum effect, against whatever strategy he chooses to come at us with. And the only REASON he is even ABLE to come at us with an attack strategy is because YOU diverted troops from looking for Osama, and used them instead to go on your stupid Iraq mission, for no greater reason than fucking OIL!! So, thanks to your actions (or lack thereof,) Mr. Resident, Osama, unfortunately DOES get to determine how we are going to defend ourselves. (sarcasm on) And thanks again, for making us so much safer, Mr. Resident!! I sure feel safer...don't y'all?? (sarcasm off)

2. That was a bizarre statement |
|
Apropos of nothing really. Kerry stated the true fact that bin Laden uses the situation in Iraq to recruit terrorists. Nothing could be clearer than that statement.
Had Bush said that bin Laden has been recruiting terrorists anyway, or had he said that the information was faulty, had he said virtually ANYTHING else, it might have been a throwaway remark but what he did say was ridiculous.
Since administration consensus is the OBL attacked the WTC and Pentagon, and since they insist that "9/11 changed everything" (two statements that I don't necessarily agree with anyway), it makes sense that those actions would dictate how we defend ourselves.
But we're not defending ourselves in Iraq - that has been made abundantly clear. By ignoring bin Laden, by arrogantly stating that he "doesn't care" where he is, by now saying that OBL has nothing to do with how we "defend ourselves", he is making it clearer by the day that Iraq was the goal from the beginning.
Why can't more Americans see that?
