Mother enters school bus, helps son beat up another student
COLUMBUS, Ga. A woman in Columbus, Georgia faces battery and disorderly conduct charges after school officials say she stepped onto her son's school bus and helped him beat up another student.
Muscogee County School District security supervisor James Johnson says 30-year-old Pauline Baptiste has been charged with one count each of disrupting school, simple battery, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

Authorities say Baptiste forced her way onto the school bus Tuesday after it came to a scheduled stop on its way to Richards Middle School in Columbus. Her son then approached a male student and struck him.

Johnson says that when the student struck back at the mother and son, Baptiste kicked and scratched the boy while he was down, adding that the boy only suffered minor scratches.

Baptiste and her son then fled the scene in her car, and she was later arrested by Columbus police. The woman told authorities she was only restraining her son.

4. Bar would, though. Unfortunately.
Sounds like this out-of-control mother is on the offensive, all the time, just like * told us we had to be. Which makes her offensive in all ways.

Sheesh.

5. Wonder if she had...
... one of those bumper stickers on her car that reads, "My kid beat up your honor student." ???

And, yeah, kind of a statement on the current state of the country. Look at it this way--it's marginally better for this to be an isolated instance and deserving of mention, rather than being so common that we hardly take notice. *sigh*

7. how do we know 'he had it coming"
perhaps the mothers son was the bully? He, after all, is the one who threw the first punch. The mother was completely in the wrong.

8. Uh, what exactly about...
... my reply suggests that the mother's son wasn't the instigator? And, where did I say "he had it coming?"

10. Then it's good etiquette to reply...
... to the person making the statement... which is my point.

Cheers.

12. Just to help you...
if you wish to respond to the original post, go back to it and hit the "reply" link on the original post. At the end of each post there's a "reply" link so, if you're reading the thread and get to the last post and click on reply on the last poster's post, the reply will be to the last poster not the original poster. Or, if you are in the middle of a thread and you are reading post #8 and hit "reply" on THAT post, the your reply will be to poster #8.

You have to go back to the top of the thread to the original post to reply to the original poster. :hi: Hope this helps.

13. OK I understand that
But he knew who I was talking to and wanted to be a jerk. I am not the only one who clicks the bottom reply to post on a thread. Do we really need to get in an uproar over which link I clicked to respond to the post? Is it really necessary to be that anal?

14. You may have picked a good screen name
If that is the attitude you wish to convey. This is a fast moving forum and people often click on the "my posts" button to see if they have replies to their comments. When you return to a thread and find that the comment is not addressed to you but to someone further up, it is annoying.

When the person who did it comes back with rude and obnoxious remarks, it is more annoying.

It's even more annoying when someone sticks their nose into somewhere it doesn't belong.
Look at my original post....is it rude or obnoxious? NO it is conveying my opinion on the subject.

"When you return to a thread and find that the comment is not addressed to you but to someone further up, it is annoying."

DEAL WITH IT, it happens to me all the time and I never say a word because it is a fast moving forum and I understand that they were addressing the whole post and not me. But by all means continue to be anal about it.

And look at the post that started it....is it not obnoxious or rude or is it just ignorant?
I guess that rule only applies to me.

On edit: I just looked at my post and there are three that responded to what I posted but they were addrssing the WHOLE post. Do I now have the right to do to them what is being done to me here?
