Directory of or website that evaluates progressive businesses?
I am looking for places that folks can feel good about shopping at, like Ben n Jerry's, Newman's own, Burt's Bees, etc etc.

So what are some directories of businesses which are good to their communities and the environment? Thanks!

3. What about progressive oil companies?
Ben and Jerries is trucked on state highways using gasoline.

There must be a green oil company.

In our interconnected world, simply endorsing commercial models
build on a foundation of clay might support good feelings, but hardly
does it fix the problem.

How many percent of the world's population in 2100 will EVER know
what a tuna steak tastes like?

I'm sorry if this seems frustrating and contradictory, but either
we endorse the entire status quo, or we propose an alternative model.
To elect the foot without the leg and the asshole seems mighty pointless.

4. ...
So it's all or nothing? That's bullshit. Doing what you can, when you can is much better than doing nothing at all.

6. not "all or nothing"... "all interconnected"
Don't tell me one company is great out of context. Include the
whole supply chain, and make sure that we can formulate an alternate
economic model that washes.

TO say ben and jerrys is great, and then to be down on conoco
when ben and jerrys transport trucks use their gasoline to move
cargo to market, is being immature, and does alternative economic
models no justice, as it makes us all laughable.

I postulate, that if ben and jerrys never existed, we'd waste less
petrol and overweight america would have slighly fewer pounds and
heart problems. Doing nothing at all, might very well be better.

I don't mean to be rude, just i expect the green intelligence to put
up some more substance, as i want it to succeed and take power from
these rude motherf***ers that run the economy today... and without
a big picture coherent alternative model, that would work if elected,
it makes green economics "unelectable" and anyone who supports it
a joke... and i support it, so it makes me a joke as well.

peace,
-s
