We should plan to fight this thing all the way to January 20, 2005
The Busheviks obviously have several plans. Their preferred plan is to win outright with a majority of the electoral votes as chosen by the voters in the states. It lends an air of credibility, so obviously they want that.

We also know they have a Plan "B" which is to steal the election in places like Florida if necessary. The 2000 selection proved that.

Plan "C" has to exist and goes back to their plans for the occasion of Bush losing the electoral vote bt winning the popular vote. They can implement this plan regardless of how many electoral votes it appears Kerry will win by after the vote counts. Only 26 states provide for any penalties if an elector votes other than the way he/she is pledged. You know there will be lobbying, cajoling, and dare I say, threats made to the Kerry electors after the election. We need to plan for this contingency immediately.

And after all of that, there must be a plan "D", the plan which must never be spoken but which terrifies me. This plan would involve a WMD attack on American soil which would result in martial law with the election thrown out. Through the power of the military under martial law, such an action would give the Busheviks the power and ability to enforce a nullification of the election.

Nope, even if Kerry wins by a landslide on November 2nd, this thing will not be over until Kerry is sworn in and the Busheviks are pushed out. Count on it.

1. That's what I like about you Walt
The skill of futurist thinking has too long been undeveloped
and discouraged in this country. The corporatists have
perfected and encouraged it among the elite, but
egrigously omitted it in the public school system of education,
along with the skill of conflict resolution, creative thinking and
flexibility and adaptiveness. I truly think that is how we have
arrived at the point we are now, as a citizenry.

You are so correct about the absolute need to strategize
possible solutions for possible outcomes. All of them.

What ARE we going to do in every possible outcome?
These people have plotted long and hard to
concentrate the power they now hold, and they are
not going away quietly and as we know, are capable
of anything.

3. Take this potential scenario, Nov. 3, Kerry - 296, Bush 242
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 05:44 PM by Walt Starr
Bushco "graciously concedes", and the underground attack machine goes into effect. The House opens up the electoral votes and low and behold, it turns out to be Bush 271, Kerry 267. Bush comes out with this statement:

"Under the contitution, a majority of the electoral college determines who wins the presidency. A majority of the electoral college has spoken and stated very clearly, although many were pledged to another candidate we must not change presidents during this time of crisis."

Check mate.

Kerry needs to make post election plans to keep the Rove agents away from his electors.

2. yes yes yes.
And unfortunately, in a way, we (paper ballot activists) have helped with a possible scenario:
By encouraging skepticism of electronic ballots but not getting the job done as far as getting mandated paper ballots, we are left in an area where the incumbent party, if they lose, can use that skepticism and their power to discredit the vote, perhaps rescheduling the election or going to the SC for some "relief' or some other manipulation to avoid handing over the keys to the white House.

We will get no rest (well, maybe a week or two), after the election. But do we think that our opponents, if we win, are going to just say "Kerry won fair and square"?

We NEED to be thinking about strategies and scenarios and responses and reactions.

My yahoo group isn't doing too well ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/octobersurprise/ ) but maybe someone else's will.

5. The RW M.O. is PROJECTION -- projecting their own thoughts/plans on Dems
I heard today on Guy James that the RW is now saying that the Dems have dirty tricks planned for the election. You can bet your bottom dollar that means *THEY* already have plans in place.

Y'know, it would be really nice if we could know, not the specifics, but that the Kerry campaign DOES, in fact, have contingency plans. And, if so, how they need us to help.

The caller to Guy James also said there were plans in place for the votes to be disrupted in the Colorado Senate race. I sure hope the state Dems have some backup plans for that, also, as Coors seems to be quite a bit behind.

PROJECTION.

Clue # 1.
