i saw going upriver
and i've come to the conclusion that if Kerry doesn't win, it's because this country doesn't deserve a man like him as our President.

1. I agree!
I came out of the movie deeply admiring the man. I was even crushing on him a little bit (don't tell my husband or Teresa). He's got amazingly soulful eyes, and the more you get to know him as a person (things like this documentary help) the more you know he has the kind, decent soul to match his eyes.

It's a wonderful movie. It's a MUST SEE for any Kerry fan, for anyone who's still an ABB, for anyone who's Republican but soft on Bush. I wish every voter in America could see it.

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS MOVIE PEOPLE.

12. you'd have to take a number!
Johanna Schneller, who reviewed the film for the Globe and Mail, said that by the end of the movie she was ready to give Kerry her heart, her vote, and anything else he wanted!

3. i also think it's a REAL shame
that we have found this man who could be one of, or maybe THE greatest President ever, and he has to spend his term cleaning up Bush's mess rather than doing the great things he's capable of.

4. I just read a review by Entertainment Weekly and
they gave it an "A".

There's no link as it is from the magazine but here's an exerpt..

"If the big brains behind the Democratic presidential campaign are still in search of a strategy, they might want to consider getting every voter in America to see "Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry". This potent and eye opening documentary assembled by director George Butler(Pumping Iron)from an vast array of archival footage, shows us what the media has presented only in fragmentary glimpses: a compelling, blow-by-blow account of John Kerry's service in Vietnam--and, more than that, the full revealing chronicle of how he ultimately came together with hundreds of his comrades to form Vietnam Veterans Against the War."

I definetly want to get this when it comes out on DVD, October 19th.

13. It was a good show
but very disturbing for one that "came of age" at that time. I couldn't take my eyes from all of those "young" soldiers.
It totally kills me inside when I think about these young soldiers
dying in Iraq. For me it's like "Been There, Done That".
I've also came to the conclusion, if anyone can help our boys there-with support, equipment, etc.-it will be from one who has been there.
I really like John Kerry-alot.
