Do yourself a favor
Stay up til 1 a.m. Eastern and watch Howard Dean with Tim Russert on CNBC. (You can catch the last of it now, just past 10:30 p.m.)

I promise you, you'll not regret it. Some of you might also see what so many of us still -- and will always -- adore about this man.

His capacity for the plainspoken, pragmatic truth will do your heart glad.

1. I love Howard Dean.
He enabled the other candidates to speak out, IMHO. He was the brave one who did it FIRST.

Really, folks, I'm both in tears (as I always am after seeing him and having to realize one more time what we lost), and enlivened.

4. He was at the sharp end of the campaign to upend Smirk
It's hard to imagine now, but only 18 months ago, all Democratic contenders could do was praise lordgodbush, and humbly suggest that they would do a few things only slightly differently, were they able to somehow displace Glorious Leader as president.

Dean came out, threw down the gauntlet, asserted that the emporer had no clothes, that the world was "not safer with Saddam in jail" suffered the outrage of all reputlicans and most democrats for his honesty and perscipacity, and history has proven him to be absolutely correct.

I love the way he jumps on fundies, insists on separation of church and state, rails at the guns, gays divisionists, and stays on target for traditional and important democratic values that can and will put this country back on track.

I supported him more fervently than I have ever supported a candidate. He will help Kerry, and do so unbegrudgingly because Dean is a good and honest and intelligent human being who puts the country ahead of his own career in politics

5. Amen
And you know what? He's still turning out HUGE crowds. He was at 3 universities in Oregon yesterday, I think it was, and I was stunned at the overflow crowd reported for one of them. Amazing.
