I had a strange dream last night about the draft
The last two semesters I have given a lecture and held a class discussion on the draft. Last night I dreamt that I gave this lecture (which this semester, is scheduled for a week before the election) and that I was approached by a skeptical student afterward. He tells me that I am blowing smoke and that the draft will never come back. He then says that if there somehow were to be a draft that he would just get a college deferment. I then tell him that undergraduate deferments don't exist anymore. He gives me a stonefaced, bewildered look. Then the dream ends.

1. That does not sound like a dream to me.
It sounds like the last conversation I had with my son. He simply does not believe that he is under threat of a draft.

He will not vote for *, but he thinks his mom is blowing smoke.
