Hope for North Texas???
Two weeks ago I put 2 new bumper stickers on my car -- I figured it would be save as several houses around here had theire K/E04 yard signs still up. Car still hasn't been vandalized -- keeping my fingers crossed as I really cannot afford the time or the money in having my car in the shop!!! Anyway, on to the stories and observations:

Monday, an angry male person was shouting at me (my windows were rolled up, and I was with my boss!), she asked me why this guy was yelling and mad at me. I said I didn't know. He kept doing this and finally passed me when we got out of rush hour traffic. It then dawned on me and I started laughing, by boss asked what was so funny...I said, he didn't like my bumper stickers. She asked what do they say? Still laughing, I replied, Fire the Liar, Vote Democrat. She said, people really get that upset over bumper stickers? It was GREAT -- her and her husband (and 85% of the staff) are republicans.

Today, driving thru Grapevine on 121, hubby was driving and a lady pulled along side of us while we were driving at 50, he rolled down his window and slowed down (thought something was wrong with the car) and she yelled: Love your bumper stickers!! Gave us a wave and went on her way!! (And of course I NEVER thought this would happen to me -- especially in North Texas!!!)

On the same drive, saw the following bumper sticker on a window:
Defend America, Defeat Bush!

On one of the streets I drive down to go to work has two of the VERY large K/E04 signs and several smaller ones. First there was one yard with one large K/E and 2 small K/E signs. After several weeks, 5 B/C signs (small ones) showed up in 5 different yards. Two days later another yard sported a large K/E sign and 3 houses sport small K/E signs. All of this in a one block area in Bedford, Texas!!!!

The state may still go Bush, but I think it's gonna be closer than it was in 2000!!!! I see very few B/C signs or bumper stickers. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the money (and don't want to waste the gas) driving all over the metroplex to scope things out.

From my small neck of North Texas, it feels good to have a bit more hope that just MAYBE we can oust the shrubhuman!!!

1. K/E Bumper Sticker In Richardson, TX - No Trouble
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 09:26 PM by mhr
Very few B/C stickers to be seen at all.

This area of North Dallas was decimated by the telecom bust 3&1/2 years ago. It has not recovered yet.

Many of those telecom republicans are having serious second thoughts me thinks.

Maybe TX won't go for Bush, but it'll be too close for comfort.

8. ROTFLMAO!!!
Good one! I think we need to send him back to Connecticut -- maybe ship him to Jeb instead!

Obviously, not everyone in Crawford wants him back!

13. No way in Hell is Bush going to live in Crawford. As soon as
he loses that little ranchita is going up for sale and he will buy an elite condo in Houston to be next to Poppy who is getting on in age. What a cowboy - NOT.

4. Hey cinamon--
Good to see another North Texas person here!

reprehensor and I are in Rowlett. Have had a bazillion bumper stickers on our car for months with no trouble.

Saturday evening, we had a big "Meet the Candidates" dinner here in Rockwall, and the numbers were staggering. From having 15-20 people per meeting last year when I started going, we've increased our numbers to 45-60 per meeting.

Last night we probably had between 75-100 people there. We got a Jim Nickerson and a David Weiner sign to go with our Kerry. We put the Kerry sign up the night of the debates, and it's still there.

I've had plenty of friends experience nasty yelling Republicans (one friend had her entire bumper taken OFF), but we haven't had any of that.

Things are changing around here. It's nice to see. :D

WOW!!! I figured things were looking up for the Dems in Texas, but you're numbers are wonderful to hear.

Congrats on being a wonderful supporter of the Dems!!

I work a very bizarre schedule (well,,,I can't even call it a schedule because the hours and days change from one day to the next, and it's mostly nights), so I can't really plan on anything. I really was hoping to be able to attend a few Dem events this election cycle, but the timing has not worked out.

My meager donations and bumper stickers will have to suffice I'm afraid.

I'll keep sending out good wishes and vibes to all the dems in the area!!

Keep up the AWESOME work!

5. My wife and I have "Veterans For Kerry" bumper stickers...
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 09:02 PM by Ezlivin
...and they have been warmly received.

My wife commutes to Dallas five days a week, driving from Keller down 121. She has gotten a few thumbs-up as she drives.

I've not had any run-ins, but what can someone say to me when they see my bumper sticker and then my Disabled Vet license plate? I think that it doesn't allow them any room to grouse.

There are three houses on our block with K/E signs, only one B/C; we'll be putting up our K/E signs this week.

I'd love to see Texas go for Kerry!

(On edit: added "our block", since three houses in the entire town would be rather sad.)
