Let Me Finish "Strange moments of the debate" |
|
One of the weirdest moments during the debate was when Bush, out of nowhere, barked "let me finish." Lehrer hadn't said anything. Kerry hadn't said anything. He was only 60 seconds in to his answer. None of his warning lights had gone off.
Did he have an earpiece in violation of the rules?

I was like wtf?? Unless Lehrer gestured to Shrub what was he talking about? But Lehrer couldn't have gestured anything because Shrub's "green" light hadn't even gone on yet had it?

I think what is misleading is to say you can lead and succeed in Iraq if you keep changing your positions on this war. And he has. As the politics change, his positions change. And that's not how a commander in chief acts.
Let me finish.
The intelligence I looked at was the same intelligence my opponent looked at, the very same intelligence. And when I stood up there and spoke to the Congress, I was speaking off the same intelligence he looked at to make his decisions to support the authorization of force.

10. No earpiece (or probably not), more likely he is recalling a debate prep |

moment where the "Kerry stand-in" that practiced with bush* interrupted. He's so phony he's repeating exactly what he said in practice. Whatever the question was or keyword that he asssociated with his proscribed answer set him in motion, and he wasn't about to let reality get in the way.
EDIT: Either that, or instead of "god" speaking to him, it's Ross Perot!!

13. He had paused for a long time. So I suspect Lehrer |
|
made some motion -- perhaps looked down at his papers -- to suggest he was about to move on to the next question, so the shrub said "let me finish" to Lehrer. That was the impression I had while watching it. The shrub did look very stupid, though.
