What political ideology is Nat Hentoff? |
|
I've read a couple of his columns lately, and he seems to be all over the place. kind of libertarian-ish, but it's hard to pin down him with an easy label.

1. I believe he has called himself libertarian |
|
I've been reading him for many years and my take is that even though he has trouble acknowledging that women own their own bodies, he is pretty much a lover of liberty.

4. For some weird reason... |
|
Quite a few avowed libertarians are anti-abortion.

2. Hentoff has always been... |
|
... a very strong civil libertarian. Big on civil rights and strongly against government interference in same. Read more of what he's written over the years and you'll get a better sense of where he's coming from.
Hentoff is sort of an ACLU poster boy. :)
Cheers.

3. Yeah, he defies labels. |
|
He is as anti-choice as they come, but a real stickler for civil liberties.

5. He was for the invasion, wasn't he? |
|
I remember a column of his in which he defended his not marching against it.
Anyone know if his opinion has changed?
