Hey, gang:

Just got back a little while ago from three days in Montreal. After having spent the weekend with warm, open-hearted people who can't understand why so few of us vote, I have grudgingly returned to the Land of People Who Take Fox News Seriously. :scared: I'll write about my experiences north of the border after I've had a much-needed night's sleep, and will post it to the Lounge.

I see the thread I started before I left on Thursday night is still active! As I type this, the topic appears to be up to 94 posts. Well, thanks DU! That is far and away the longest thread for which I've ever been responsible.

I was just going over some of the replies. What can I say? Only at DU would people actually give a fuck that what I said to that hatemonger over his bumper stickers might offend those piles of human feces at that on-line septic tank, Free Republic. I don't know whether to laugh or scream!

For those who suspect that I made up the sticker that read I'D RATHER BE KILLING DEMOCRATS: I wish I had! But no, I saw that horrid testament to pathological bigotry with my very own peepers. As for where he got it, perhaps Loser Boy had it custom-made at a website like makestickers.com. That's where a lot of my own stickers come from. I certainly only hope that I'D RATHER BE KILLING DEMOCRATS has not been mass-produced!

I had forgotten about one other sticker on the back of that pick-up truck. It showed a red, white and blue donkey's head inside the cross-hairs of a gun, with the caption, GOT AMMO? Would my DU detractors still feel holier-than-thou toward me if the image in those cross-hairs had been that of an African-American? Methinks there may some folks around these parts with major self-hatred issues!

The simple fact is, I did what I did last week, and nothing will change that. Even if I wanted to take back what I yelled at the moron--and I don't--I couldn't do it anyway. So fuck it.

I only get that angry about once every decade, so with any luck I'm good now 'til age 48! :eyes:

I didn't know the thread was still active. Some people are trolling, and some are concerned for your safety, but I thought it was funny as hell, thanks for saying what I would have said had I the guts. I am pitifully shy, but the day after your thread i parked behind a man with a "save America/vote Democratic" sticker on his car, and I told him "nice bumper sticker" and gave him a thumbs up, 'cause of you, so thanks.
