1978 revisited, $210 billion in outsourcing, and crossing the Rubicon.
As the 1978/1979 recession was a godsend for Reagan and the Republicans, it is certain that Bush and the PNAC he truly represents have the coming recession in mind for similar purposes.

Don't kid yourself. It's coming. I could happen tomorrow, but the Republican Party won't let it happen too soon and spoil their plans. "reprobate" said it very eloquently; obviously this person has studied history:

"At the moment the general anger is beneath the surface. Just how much more will the people take in their descent into poverty? We do know that historicly (sic) when the divide between rich and poor reaches some point, an auto combustion occers (sic) and revolution is born. Usually, its started by some small occurance that acts as a rallying point."

I know what that rallying point will be: the crash of the Automobile Industry.

Cars are the last bastion of the semi-skilled laborer. Back in 1977 when the recession of 1978 was just getting started, there were still a few safety nets for these people. Now with Union membership and therefore dues way down, plus the dismantling of social safety nets over the Reagan, Bush I/II, and to our shame, Clinton administrations, when the assembly lines close down this time, children will sicken and starve.

When this has happened in the past, after the "spark" has been set to the powder, the equivalent of "Storming the Bastille" arms the revolution. I think we can skip that step this time, thanks to the Republicans. Again, quoting "reprobate":

"This is an armed nation. I've heard it said that there a more guns in this country than people. Once the spark is delivered, the explosion will at least be loud."

A masterwork of understatement. ONE "Militia Nutjob" (Timothy McVeigh) killed 200+ people with lawn fertilizer and oil. Can you picture the Missouri Militia 1st Infantry (the ones the government lets keep M-14's capable of full auto, and jeeps armed with 105mm recoiless rifles) after the "government" tries to install Martial Law in Little Rock? It won't make any difference to THEM (and thousands just like them; remember the "Christian Identity" movement) if Kerry, Bush or Bozo the Clown is president: They are ready to FIGHT.

What will happen here will make 1776, 1789, and 1917 look like Chicago in 1968. And I don't believe it can be avoided anymore; at least not indefinitely.

2. Not yet. Where did you buy yours?
And yes, the whole damned country has become Project Mayhem. I wonder most of the time why any of us care anymore.

3. From the Wilderness
I just got an e-mail today saying that they just finished shipping the pre-orders, so it should be on the way.

But if you want a sneak peek (or is it "peak"?), here's chapter 19:
