Should Edwards say what should have been said long ago |
|
that Bush and Cheney were in charge BEFORE 9-11.

1. First and foremost, Edwards should tell the truth to |
|
America and let the chips fall where they may. If that means informing them that they were in charge before 9/11, so be it. I hope he kicks butt really hard. I'm so sick of the lies, distortions, stealing, misleading, call it like it is.

2. Edwards: (some suggestions) |
|
The Vice President was given the bi-partisan Hart-Rudman report on terrorism. He shelved it.
The Vice President wa authroized to convene his own committee on terrorism. He didn't hold a meeting until after the tragedy of 9/11.
He did hold meetings on energy policy... we've heard.

3. I don't understand what you are getting at. |
|
Of course they were in charge before 9-11. They were President and Vice President for almost nine months already when 9-11 happened.

5. he should say a lot of things but one thing he shouldn't do |
|
is "imply" anything or be "cute" or use clever analogies. Edwards needs to be bold and direct and use the word "lie" in many sentences. He needs to focus on secrecy and collusion and judicial impropriety.
He needs to explain that the difference in governing styles between a Kerry Edwards administration and "the great uniter" will be the difference between open American government sought by our founding fathers and . . . the government of the Bush administration, and other petty dictatorships.
He needs to verbally get cueball to fall off his crashcart and infarct right there in public.

and says something inexcusable, or "go F--- yourself" or some other adorably photogenic SNARL. Provoke him into having his own "reaction shot" moment - including all the Wednesday (and Thursday and Friday)-morning quarterbacking that goes with it. Bad publicity for cheney will be MOST appreciated.
I joked to my husband that we should call it "Prince Charming Meets Rumplestilskin."

6. What Edwards should say |
|
1. Why in the hell did you authorise a 100 plus Billion dollar blank cheque to the company you were the CEO of and are still on the board of diectors for.
2. What was the profit margin you reaped from selling nuclear technology by Haliburton while Cheney was CEO to Iran in spite of federal laws prohibiting it.
3. and while we are on the subject of money just how much has the stock options worth that you are still receiving from Haliburton as a member of the board of directors, and how will the latest round of tax cuts you directed President Bush to enact affect the value of them

10. Someone at Atrios pointed out that if Cheney goes with the gassed his |
|
own people rhetoric that Edwards should respond with yes and the Republicans rewarded Saddam by turning a blind eye and doing business with him. Damn good point.

11. "Gassed his own people." |
|
I heard J. Kerry say that. There is no proof that Saddam ever ordered gassing the Kurds. None!
Everybody keeps repeating this like it is a fact. It is not a fact!

13. Holbrooke said the same thing on Face The Nation. Interesting |
|
Why don't you write to the Kerry people and see what kind of response you receive.

14. What is clear is that some sort of gas was used on Kurds, but it's |
|
an open question as to who exactly did the gassing. I've seen some reports (none of which i can lay my hands on right now) that suggest Iranians might have done it, although I couldn't tell you why they would have.
