The founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network unabashedly said he favoured Israel over the Palestinians, saying: "It isn't a question of politics, it's just a question of God's plan."

Jews and Christians have a common heritage and a different God than the Muslims, Robertson said.

The new testament is fairly monotheistic, but the old testament is not. Yawaih is the greatest God, the true God, but not neccessarily the only god. And considering how much fundementalists rely on the tone and context of the old testament, I wouldnt be surprised if he did have the same odd relationship with other gods.

5. Ok, as stupid as this is, here's a different reason why it is stupid:

A Christian who really affirms traditional church dogma would have to affirm that God is OMNIPOTENT and that NOTHING OR NOONE can oppose his ultimate will.

When they ascribe this kind of power to "Satan" it is always so inconsistent and contradictory. Fundamentalists at the same time speak about the absolute and ultimate authoritarian sovereignty of God, and then speak about the Devil as some kind of a threat to those plans.

The greatest kept secret of fundamentalist xianity is that it actually believes in two Gods, not one God. God and Satan, in war with each other - and no matter how much they deny it, they ACT like Satan has some kind of real ability to disrupt the sovereign plans of God.

Personally I don't believe any of that - my own views are radically different.

BTW dominionists believe they can induce the return of christ to the earth, by instigating the chain of events foretold in the bible that lead to christ's earthly return.
And they are actively trying to make it happen - war with the middle east is amongst the first phases.

But I really don't trust al Jazeera to tell the truth about Christians and Jews. They just don't seem to be an unbiased source in this case.

I don't doubt that Pat Robertson gets a bit loony sometimes, but another source would be nice.
