when WAS the last official terror alert?

seems like right before the dem convention. aren't we about due for one? it's been a long time and i miss tom ridge's frankenstein puss.

1. It was right before bloggers correlated

Bush's poll numbers with terra alerts, (which let the cat out of the bag) and additional polling that suggested that people who were most bugged by the possibility of terror were least likely to vote for Bush.

I might add the blogging work (look at one of the early posts on my site) shows that the raise in poll numbers vs. terror alerts was ceasing to have an effect. In effect, there was the bell ringing, but no food offered, and so the Pavlovian response was wearing off.
