OMG!!! Did you hear AL Franken on the road in BOULDER!?!?!
Edited on Mon Oct-04-04 08:36 PM by bransonfu
wow. the way he talked with such passion. that was something else! I heard a new Al quite different from the snarky, urbane, witty, funny and always sarcastic guy I love.

This guy was feeling the passion from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head. He whipped the crowd up about WORKING HARD for this election to oust the man who is too lazy to care about how a country should be run.

WORK! WORK! WORK HARD to get out the vote and to get Bush out of office!

You could see summed up in that paragraph of thoughts just why he decided to jump out of the easy money book writing game and get into talk radio.

1. I got to hear it on Air Atlanta this afternoon!! WooHoo!
I was out and about and it was just wonderful to be able to tune in -- of course, it's apparently a small station so the coverage doesn't extend out very far, but it was GREAT.

4. that's cool. funny, I used to live in Liberal, Kansas. quite the misnomer
a hugely conservative town if there ever was one. just like the rest of the Creationist, religio-freak, white-only state of Kansas west of Kansas City.

5. yeah. that's the main thing that got me. I knew he was "into it" before...
but my god, I've never heard such populist force emanating from him. He really will fight with every breath to win votes in these battle ground areas.

I'm so glad we have him as a main catalyst for Air America. With that, Daily Show, and DU, Harpers, The Nation...I can surive these times.

15. I wish NONE of this was necessary! I wish our biggest worry was
how to get rid of zitz, y'know?

But, the other side of it is, we and the rest of the country have let too much slide, and it was inevitable that we would come to a crunch. It's an ugly lesson to learn, and I hope that it pulls us all together so strongly that we never forget it!

I'm so impressed by the creativity of our side!

Thanks for the URL...... will go take a look....

20. Al Franken said Bush is lazy, in spite of
invoking the phrase "hard work" during the debates.

We must truly put in the hard work every day though Nov.2 to get Bush out of office.

11. I Was There - It Was So Fun
everybody sang "This Land is Your Land" and the 3rd chorus went like this:

This Land is Your Land

I heard Rush Limbaugh
Misquote Joe Lockhart
Was it a lie, or
Just a Limbaugh brain-fart?
We know he pulls facts
Out of his butthole
Right-wing Limbaugh dishonesty.

I wondered if it was clear for those listening -

12. LOL. wow. .that was really funny. the musicians sounded great too
I like that style of music. and reminded me of the Starlight Theater performances in KC you hear on the radio or Grand Old Opry stage performance.

Al really cranks up when he's live in front of an audience.
