2. He is definitely a cool guy!
That was cute about his "complexion." He said no one can tell when he's blushing!

3. Jon Stewart said
that Tutu was the nicest person he's ever met. I think for once he may not have been kidding :)

10. Tutu is one of the reasons...
...I became an Anglican. I met him during a anti-apartheid tour in the early 80s and decided whatever that man had I wanted. Truly a gentle, wise soul.

8. Desmond Tutu is the real thing.
Whited sepulchres like Falwell and Robertson (and B*sh) should take a good look at him. That's what a real Christian looks like.

11. That was amazing.
We all have the capacity for the greatest of evil, but there is exhilaration in the good. Damn, I can't remember it! But he said it all so simply. The things we've all thought, here. He made me proud to be a part of these forums. Because we care. We are good. That dream that some day we will all realize we are part of one. No outsiders. (Although I did have a problem with the "all" part. I kind of think some ought to be excluded. :) ) I loved his statement about his complexion, when Jon said he would write in his name for another peace prize, and if he would just give a little shout out when he won it, to Jon- He said you can never tell when he's blushing.

Yes, that part where Desmond said, "I like you" to Jon. It was so simple, yet powerful. Wow.

Damn, I can't do it justice. That was one of the better interviews on the daily show.

16. I love this man, and felt his Spiritual Presence.

Desmond Tutu stated that:

bush*s invasion and occupation of Iraq was "an immoral and illegal war!"
He also stated that the Pope thinks the war is immoral and illegal.

Later in the interview, he said that when God looked down and saw the millions of protesters against bush* war, that God was happy.

19. did you know he's appearing off-broadway?
Minutes before he made his theatrical debut in a production of the documentary play "Guantánamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom," DESMOND TUTU, right, the retired South African archbishop who spent most of his life publicly attacking the apartheid regime of his own country, came down with a common case of stage fright. "I have butterflies," Mr. Tutu, 72, said backstage at the Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street, Greenwich Village) on Saturday night. "I'm not used to playing someone else. Why did I get myself into this?" Mr. Tutu, surely the only winner of the Nobel Peace Prize to star Off Broadway this season, made an appearance in two performances of the play about human rights over the weekend, playing the part of Lord Justice Steyn, a British magistrate who objects to the detainment of political prisoners at Guantánamo Bay, an American military base in Cuba. For his efforts on Saturday night, at least, Mr. Tutu received a standing ovation
