Someone Answer this Question for me...
it appears that the majority of the American public thinks scrub is wrong on almost every issue. How is that mental moron still in the race? I work in Korea and my Korean friends ask me the same question and I have no answer for them.

1. Becasue the polls don't
show that at all (that a majority of the American public think * is wrong...). Smoke and mirrors appears to be winning over substance.

2. One can't discount the effects of...
... a news media which tends to gloss over the facts about Bush and his administration in favor of providing the administration line. In a very strong sense, Bush manages to get his beliefs out to the public without much interference, analysis or skepticism. That's bound to have an effect.

This may be why the polls shifted as quickly as they did after the first debate. For ninety minutes, the undecided public got to see Bush without benefit of adoring supporters and reporters throwing him softballs.

Bush still has plenty of supporters, I think, in part, because he appeals to those with a strong anti-intellectual attitude which has been fostered by the right wing. For them, Bush's "gut instincts" are just fine. They truly don't believe in an intellectual approach to government. They have been trained, over decades, to vote against their own interests.

If you can locate it, try to find Thomas Frank's What's the Matter with Kansas? It explains the current voter phenomenon rather well.

Cheers.

3. 3 issues....
abortion, guns, gays
those morons are voting for those 3 issues... forget that those 3 issues dont affect them since aboriton wont ever be outlawed again, guns will never go away.. and gay marriage.. i just dont see how it affects you personaly unless you want to get married and cant...
but thats what our side is forgetting when we ask questions like "how can people still want to vote for this idiot"
those people who are voting for those 3 issues dont care if the economy is down the shitter.... WWIII is starting... dont care they just focus on those 3 issues :)
