Poll question: Better Cheney metaphor?

Sauron: Pure evil, but didn't have the balls to actually appear during the proceedings of LOTR, instead just putting an eye (Big Brother) out there. Further, he never actually does anything himself, he just makes his puppets Saruman (Bush), the Nazgul (Bush's Cabinet), and the Orcs (media) do all the work.

Darth Vader: Again, pure evil. He's the man in charge and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. Would kill his own son to advance his agenda.

1. Mr. Big Time isn't that big time. I think he's more like The Penguin
from batman comic books. Just one of many villains. He's not the major one who is pulling all the strings. Infact, I don't think there is any ONE person pulling all the neo-con strings.. it's a group of villains. Rove is their PR person.

2. I'd have to agree with The Penguin metaphor.
I have a feeling that Ashcroft has more power (in the sense that he can get away with whatever he wants) than any other cabinet member. This may be evidenced by the fact that we hardly ever talk about him....
