2. Nah, I'd fuck it up somehow.
I'd always be doing some goofy shit like bombing Indiana or pardoning Charles Manson. I can barely keep up with my paperwork and my daughter is like a half-goth half drama-queen intellectual who's always picking a fight with authority figures. Nope, no way I'd cut it as president. But I'd sure make a kick ass vice president, so long as my boss had a good ticker.

"Bon Voyage!"

6. Without A Doubt
I actually showed up for my military service.

I actually studied during school.

I have actually worked at jobs with only two weeks of vacation.

I actually know what a book looks like and can read.

Case closed.

8. i could do it just as poorly
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 03:23 PM by maxsolomon
but i don't WANT to do it, either.

i'd also get assasinated befroe the midterm elections. openeing up full diplomatic relations with cuba, telling israel to play ball or get cut off, instituting a 100% tax on gas to pay for alternative energy research & high speed train lines, forcing detroit to get serious or fold up shop, cutting the military in half, and finally, negotiating with "terrorists" like iran wouldn't be too popular with the MIC.

i might invade NK, though. kim il sung is nuts like saddam never was.

10. I won't overstate my skills
But I'm sure I couldn't do any worse, at any rate. I have been accused of being slightly tactless, but that would still be far more than the chimp has ever shown. I would care WAY too much about the downtrodden and the disenfranchised. I would want to see conglomerates take the responsibility for their illegal practices, and I would likely want to take better care of animals, the environment and our heritage, as well as create greater areas of wilderness and preservations. We can't have those kinds of "luxuries" in a country with capitalist tendencies, I've heard.

I would make sure that phoneys and morons (NOT children) were better educated about the world around them, and while I wouldn't earn brownie points, I would try to make a campaign about stopping smoking and furnishing the means to do so. I'd try to show that the American society has grown remarkably soft, and that we need to be more like the pioneers who helped found this country, only with far more tolerance and far more generousness than was exercised the first time around.

I would probably be quickly dispensed with--we can't have sense and sensibility in the United States, can we? ;)

I looked around, and it occurred to me that I could throw a dart into the crowd and hit someone who would do a better job than the current Pretzledent. That's not a good feeling to have.

14. Well...
I'm utterly unqualified to be president (even Constitutionally---I'm too young), but even if I did a bad job, I couldn't do as evil a job as W. If I screwed up it wouldn't be for lack of good intentions.

16. I couldn't, but at least I know that.
I can't take responsibility, I end up evading it, procrastinating decisions, wasting time on irrelevant things and ending up not taking in all incoming information. I'd totally screw up in any position of authority. The difference to Bush? I wouldn't run for president.

19. No doubt about it.
I would never want to be president, and you'd have to excavate the graveyard of skeletons from my closet, but I'm absolutely certain I would be more level-headed and steady than that crooked simpleton.

21. Absolutely
My grasp of economics is certainly several hundred light years beyond his.

My understanding of working people is 10,000x his, since i'm one of them.

I couldn't be persuaded to make stupid moves by some two dimensional blowhard idealogue.

I would be willing to tell big money supporters to go pound sand if they thought they were supporting me for reasons other than the good of the country.

And, if my dog were one of my advisors, i'd get better advice than the dimbulb in charge right now.

I would have to be better than this buffoon.

22. Kinda silly question. The contents of my cat's litterbox could do better
The kids who were listening to My Pet Goat on 9/11/01 serve circles around Shrub. They can probably also speak English better. The desicated corpse of Ray-Gun could do better. At least it wouldn't open its mouth and lie.

Give me about 30 years of life experience and a long resume of holding elective office. Then I surely could be at least as good.

...when I was protesting * last May at a fund-raiser. I responded that I thought he could do a better job. He told me that I didn't know him and I said that he was right but I still thought he could do a better job. It left him without a comment.
