I have a confession about the debate last Thursday night: |
|
I don't know why, (maybe because SO much depended upon it) but I was so nervous about the debate last Thursday night, I had completely decided NOT to watch it at all. So, I turned the TV on to an old movie and sat here at the computer and started reading the running commentary here at DU. About 20 minutes in, I thought, "holy shit" and ran to watch the rest of the debate. Now, I'm getting nervous again...I don't understand it, am usually UP for confrontations of any kind! But, hopefully tonight, in case I just can't turn on the debate until I know that it's going good for our side, will you guys be doing the "official threads" of running commentary???? Please!

1. It's ok to be nervous when the future of the world will be decided... |
|
...based on perceptions that are formed over the next few weeks. I'd be concerned if you WEREN'T nervous.

2. Don't feel bad..................I did the same thing. |
|
Then I decided to go over to my brother's house cause I figured it might be more fun..............and it was.
Everytime Kerry slammed * on something, it was like my favorite football team scoring a touchdown!

3. The reason you're scared |
|
You're scared because you have no control over what happens. It's understandable.
My TV is in another room from the computer, so I won't be able to provide commentary, but you can be sure the rest of DU will. Then, get online and click right afterwards.

I couldn't watch any of the debates in 2000 either. I caught last week's debate in rebroadcast in CSPAN.

I didn't think I was going to be able to watch it either. B* makes me so angry and so sick to my stomach every time I look at his cowardly, evil face that I didn't think I'd be able to stand it. I'm so glad I watched, though.

6. One of my daughters was also afraid to watch it. She was taping |

it but not watching. Another daughter who was at my house watching with me called her sister and told her to turn on C-span and just watch the split screen with the sound off if she didn't want to hear it.
Well, needless to say, she could tell from the Chimps expressions that things weren't going well for him and she turned the sound on.

7. Funny, I watched, without expectation hoping Kerry would do well...and |
|
I was rewarded beyond what I could have EVER expected. I had no idea bush* would tank that badly, I had no question that Kerry would be great, but bush* seemed to have taken all the advise I could ever give him! :bounce:
However, I can understand your fears, I am a bit anxious about this debate also, but I will watch. :headbang:

8. The "make-or-break" rhetoric is for ratings. |
