Tulsa cops no longer investigate misdemeanors, only felonies. |
Actually, this was on local news last night but I got distracted and forgot until I saw the note I made. The city budget is apparently so tight, they've decided that petit larcenies & theft aren't worthy of any report. A guy had his lawn mower (I think...some gardening thing) stolen from his garage, the thief dropped his cell-phone, and the victim did some detective work and discovered who the perp was, where he lived and actually went and SAW his property...but the cops said "too bad, we can't afford to fiddle with your case. I worked my way through college at the Tulsa PD back in the 1960s and I find this almost unbelievable...but it's true. :grr:

4. Hard to say. I don't know how much the Tulsa police budget was Federal |
I'd be willing to bet that they weren't cut at all, but rather possibly the recipents of OHS funding from some program or another than they've cooked up. I've seen them at my deptartment. They are, shall we say, less-than-ideal.
