We do not have to "win" tonight's debate.
All we need to do is not lose. If it's a draw, we win.

Anyone who is being honest will have known going in that Cheney is going to look better in a debate than W. W is an illiterate ass. Cheney, like him or not, is a very smart, very clever man. Him doing better than W was a foregone conclusion, and not only because a retarded macaque could do better than W.

This is the only VP debate. The public will see only one like this, and they will see two more debates of W stuttering and slurring like a drunken douchebag with ADD. We win on points, regardless of how tonight goes, but if tonight is close, we win big.

1. In fact,
If Cheney looks good tonight, he makes Bush look like more of a loser.

3. Another good point.
Edwards could be out there screaing "Viva Socialism!" and we still win.

4. sorry i think it's a loss for us...
Edwards wins on charm... missed some golden moments to nail Cheney...pressed him hard on the domestic/populist topics very well... but charm and a few knocks to the chin can't defeat a gargantuan policy wonk.

7. Whatever
Policy wonk? He went into no more detail than Edwards with any of his answers, and usually he went into less.

5. I agree with your premise
but it sounds like loser-talk.

I don't think we lost this one. Not after the media goes through with its fact-checking duties.

The media, checking FACTS? What are you smoking??
;)

The media will declare it as a victory for B/C because it WAS a true tie. I'd fall off my chair if the media bothered to fact-check anything but what Edwards said.

12. They did after the first debate
I scanned all the broadcast stations, and saw NBC had a fact check squad hitting Bush on the number of trained Iraqi soldiers and hitting Kerry on the $200 Billion figure.

9. true, but...
... then you have to trust that people a) won't shut off their TVs and b) will actually listen to the media after Cheney innoculated himself as he did. The man is made of Teflon, including his pacemaker!

10. Assuming it will...
The only people stupid enough to rely on the media for their facts still support Bush. Cheney is a better debater, Edwards is more likable. No one's mind will be changed by this debate.

6. Heck
In my opinion, we don't even need to tie - though personally, I think Edwards is winning. Cheney isn't the president (well, ok, he controls the marionette strings, but still) so you have to wonder why their party was idiotic enough to accept him as Vice President, while that other guy is sitting in the Oval Office.

8. This is only a win for them if you were expecting Cheney to act like Bush!
WHO was expecting that?
