Kerry and Bush get a haircut
G. W. Bush and John Kerry somehow ended up at the same barbershop.

As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken.

The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.

As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Kerry in his chair reached for the aftershave.

Kerry was quick to stop him saying, "No thanks, my wife Theresa will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse."

The second barber turned to Bush and said, "How about you?"

Bush replied, "Go ahead, my wife doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like."

I'm sorry, I'm huge Kerry fan and deeply despise Bush, but there is certianly nothing wrong with a little humor, especially when it adds to an already great night.

4. umm, yeah....
are you asking me to leave just because i told a kerry joke? that's pretty funny in and of itself. Believe me, i am actively campaigning against Bush and would do anything to see he's defeated.

8. I wouldn't alert on this. It's not offensive - it's just not funny.
Humor should have some basis in reality. This is a lame-ass joke.

On SNL the other night, in one skit they had the actors playing Theresa & Kerry pawing/embracing each other in a super-awkward way. THAT was funny, because their body language together IS a bit stiff. I can deal with a little humor at Kerry's expense. Your joke just doesn't work.

6. Read the rules more carefully 4morewars
Under the forum rules, check out the section of Who Is Welcome on Democratic Underground, And Who Is Not.

Please also check out #2 on Message Board Rules (Short Version):

Treat People with Respect. Don't be Rude or Bigoted.

That one hardly gets followed in the forums, but I would think that a 1,000+ poster would know to abide by it.

So no violation of rules...on pres2032s part...

Don't worry, I won't "alert" anyone of your message.

If you can't take a joke, ignore it. I'm sure pres2032, who says he's a democrat, has jokes ripping Bush and the GOP a lot more than ones ripping Kerry. I don't fault him for making the joke about Kerry becaue he clearly said at the bottom of his email that he was a democrat.

So he gave no inclination of being Republican or trying to stir things up. I think he's okay according to the rules of the moderators.

pres2032 - I didn't actually like the joke. Didn't make me laugh. I won't Buh-Bye you for it though.

3. Here's one...
Bush and Kerry find themselves in a public men's room at the same time. It's awkward, to say the least.

Bush finishes and turns to the sink. Kerry finishes and starts to walk out the door.

Bush can't resist.

"You know, John, Republicans always wash their hands."

Kerry says over his shoulder, "That's nice, George, but Democrats know not to piss on their hands."
