well regarded journalists from other countries are the questioners.People like Jeremy Paxman of the BBC come to mind immediately.These men, knowledgeable and uncontaminated by the virus of access journalism,will be a vast improvement to the mindless and vapid Gwen Ifills, Tim Russerts and Charles Gibsons of our media.

we are lucky that the candidates dont get to choose the questions and practice the answers.
the league of women voters used to run fair, actual, debates. the parties snatched control of it (around 1985) to make it more into a propaganda tool than a debate.
i dont know if we can take it back to having actual debates. sure would be nice though.
oh and I agree with you 100% on the vapid weakness of the russert, ifills, gibson ilk.
